Terrible scenes in the Wolverhampton 7.10 - hope all horses and jockeys are fine. Looked to be caused by Fitz Flyer taking a false step on the bend - is the Wolverhampton track playing up again?
From RP "PAUL HANAGAN suffered a broken collarbone in an incident in the 6f claimer at Wolverhampton on Thursday night in which five runners were involved. Hanagan was riding Ortac Rock, who was brought down when the Jordan Nason-ridden Fitz Flyer clipped heels and fell on the home turn. Cape Of Hope, partnered by Richard Kingscote, and the Freddy Tylicki-ridden Pandar were brought down, while Powerful Pierre unseated Toby Atkinson. Hanagan went to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for x-rays. Kingscote was taken to New Cross Hospital with arm and rib injuries, while Tylicki suffered a minor nose injury. Fitz Flyer had to be put down. Hanagan told the Racing Post: “I’ve broken it before and I heard it break when I hit the floor.”"
