Winner and 5th - Byrd In Hand showed up fairly well and faded towards the finish so could be one to note dropping down a furlong next time.
You may or not remember that I have been keeping tabs on a greyhound who I believe will turn out to be top drawer. He is fairly lightly raced - picking up an injury in a greyhound Derby qualifier earlier in the year. He has had screws in a hock and the operation went very well. He has had 5 trials since then and tonight is his first race. He looks outclassed on form and his price reflects this - 14-1 currently. He is That's The Dream in the 9-40 at Hove You'd have to think that kennel money isn't coming tonight, but I firmly believe in this lad, Richard (trainer) says he is very well at the moment, and they are expecting him to "go well". He won't be this price next time, I guarantee!
No apology necessary mate we make our own decisions to gamble and I know even less about dogs than I do horses (which is saying something) so any info is appreciated
He has tons of early and if he clears the first bend he wins. I'm not too fussed - it would have been quite something to win first time out at OR after such an injury. I tried to watch it on Laddies TV, but since I moved to the back of beyond my internet connection is a long way from being the fastest around and I couldn't watch. I picked up a little bit of post race commentary where they were eulogising about Dream's early pace and I gathered from the bit I heard that he hadn't won! I'm still in pocket for today thanks to the Stickwise pointer
