Come on Duke Of Navan - decent bet and I really, really want Nicky Richards to have a real good 'un on his hands <fingerscrossed>
Hurricane Fly. If its a race in Ireland and the ground is soft, why on earth would anyone take him on. Fair play He won't win a Champion these days I don't think but he will be bang there in the winter races.
Just watched Harristown, heart in mouth with excitement when he drew up to challenge but that massive weight concession was just too much. Gallant effort.
Agree Ron think it was weight difference that stopped harristown winning, onwards and upwards for next time
Certainly was, TopClass, but Vaniteux looks a real prospect. Very happy for Philip Hobbs and Richard Johnson, six winners at this meeting is something else. Good people.
I missed it but every time Alistair has been a narrator on Channel 4 Racing, he's been top class. Should still be a presenter, not just a narrator. R.I.P. Dessie, I think the highlight of his career was training Hardy Eustace. Not aware of what other Grade 1 winners he trained before then.
<Cheers> I'm all good thanks.. Just getting back into the swing of the Jumps.. Hope to be around more often.
What. A. Day. He's something else the Fly, isn't he?! We'll live a long time before we see another like him. There he was today nearing 11 years old and giving the Champion Hurdler 4 years and a decisive beating, pulling away from him at the line! He's a proper legend, head and shoulders above all else around. Him and Kauto Star, we've been proper blessed to see those two superstars. As my old signature used to say longevity is the hallmark of true greatness and they both had (or in Fly's case have!) it That Vautour form just looks ridiculous now.. Garde la Victoire and Vanitreux run blinders today and both were no match at all with Vautour. I assume he'll win wherever he's sent at the Festival!
Yeah but Arkle could have given him 2st and a beating Just kidding Beefy, he's been a wonderful horse and to still be at the top table nearing 11 is some feat!!
