Well done Bob. 6/4 was an incredible price, even with the 10p in the £ R4. He's the one to beat in the Guineas that's for sure. Plenty of toe. Get lifting Ste, evens on Europe was tasty odds considering we were loaded with the form players.
The one to beat in the Guineas Dunno about that beef, Clonard Street and Battle Of Marathon he was beating there. Ivawood, Faydhan, Estidhkaar, The Wow Signal, JFK, Full Mast Hard to say anything is the one to beat in the Guineas just yet, you can have 25/1 with Paddies Ol Man, you better get on if you think hes the one to beat!
Unlucky Nass ..................... Oisin found so much trouble it's untrue ................... winner was obviously well fancied
Brilliant win by Europe at the Ryder Cup. Nice to see rookie Jamie Donaldson sink the winning putt. Was volunteering there this week - just back from finishing my last shift.
Good for you Janabelle. Nice weather and a great atmosphere for you. Not a golf fan myself but having had the match explained to me by my son I really got into it and enjoyed it. Much more interesting (to me) than the usual golf.
True enough Boris. This year we all thought Kingman was the one to beat and (that was on the day of the race!) so predicting the winner in September does seem optimistic! Looked impressive though, never had to even press the button so the distance and horses behind him are largely irrelevant. Could have won half the track if he had to. Long way to go.
Thats why they bet on racing, if Kingman wins the Guineas every time they wouldnt. Outclassed Night Of Thunder before and after yet got beat on that day. 25/1 looks a big price for Ol Man but looked more a Derby type than Guineas to me, and I dont think it was much of a race, only possible danger cut its own throat in front. That Dewhurst would be a real race if it happens, winter market could be decided there as it should be, in the top 2yo race of the season.
Ol Mans half sister by Sea The Stars just won at Epsom there. Fair price too against one of the crooks odds on shots.
Not that bothered Boris truth be told. I'm more of a jumps man. I might listen/respect your opinion more if you didn't seem to post immediately after I have to completely disagree all the time
Golf is not my no 1 sport for watching and to be honest its much better watching it on tv than actually attending a match. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and experience though - you could get quite close to the players. I was one of their "bus ambassadors" ie welcomed people on the park & ride shuttle, gave them a bit of chat about the sights on the way up (not ideal if it is dark outside!) and reminded them which P&R terminal they need to leave from and the time of the last shuttle. As the P&R I was based at was about 5 mins from my home it was pretty much a no-brainer for me to volunteer.
