Yeah i saw a quote from JB somewhere saying that he was initially told to fight but then shortly after to yield.
Yes Bando, you're probably right about the Hamilton overtake. Come to think of it, I actually rated that move as one of the best of the race! However, what I was really trying to emphasis was Button's excellent race management.
personally I thought Alonso's overtakes just after the DRS detection point were the best overtakes, apart from being decent moves they were also very very smart, making the overtake and getting full DRS in clean air. compare that to Webbers 'brilliant' move through Eau rouge a couple of seasons ago when he was almost instantly re-overtaken abut 5 seconds later because he was foolish enough to overtake just before the DRS detection zone.
Miggins: I agree with your comments about Alonso. Please excuse my laughter. It is genuine amusement at your insistence to regurgitate Webber: it's just funny! P.S. to Bando: My comment about di Resta was not so much about the Sutil incident as a response to your previous post; and I was trying to emphasise that he can (and did) overtake well.
well, I knew someone would say I was having a dig at Webber, but I couldn't think of a clearer example of pointless overtaking coming into a DRS zone, I remember everyone raving about it at the time and how good it was, when i thought it was one of the most foolishly pointless overtakes ever, although, looking back, it was probably Alonso being smart
I think you may be forgetting a few things he started the move after the detection zone so he overtook him then pulled away with DRS whilst Alonso had nothing. http://www.genspot.com/video-365759/webber-alonso-in-eau-rouge.aspx
