It'll be interesting to see what justification there is for a head shot. I doubt that's a technique in the manual.

True.
It being South Yorkshire Police a lot of hackles immediately become raised.
They got form, like.

Unless the ginner was armed with a gun, or wearing an explosives vest, the coppers reaction was OTT in the extreme. If you'd posted the clip and asked which Police Force it was I'd have guessed SYP. Tough on teenage football fans, not so good with child grooming though.

He'll never make detective. His observation skills weren't good enough to spot that he was on camera.

We all know about Orgreave & Hillsborough and such incidents as this continuing but do older posters remember SYP in the 60's & 70's, were they always like this?

Always, remember one of the Goolies getting smacked across the head with a truncheon on the concourse at Hillsborough by SYP finest quite recently. Blood everywhere.

What about if he had just stabbed someone? It looks to me like the old bloke was being attacked and the woman was reacting to that. The fact that the video started before the copper came on the scene makes me think that this was the end of something rather than the start.

I have no idea if it's true, but some are saying the bloke is the lads dad, but yes, there is clearly more before this.

I agree, we don't know what happened - we're seeing this in isolation: perhaps if SYP didn't have so much previous for this type of action people wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

I don’t doubt that if the copper hit him on the head, it will be considered an over reaction. We were taught to never raise above the shoulder and going in like that, I would have gone for the legs.

Longer footage, but not of the start. The Policewoman appears to club the bloke on the floor too.
