About the only tiny bit of positivity we can take is that this might (and that's a big might) convince Ashley we need a spending spree before the 31st to help protect his investment and saleable value of the club....

Too many grafters and not enough quality in the team. Need some decent signings in and quickly

Rafa needs to make the team pass with composure and stop panicking on the ball. We haven't passed the ball well since the first 6 months of the championship last season after which Rafa became really negative and we had terrible possession stats against poor teams like 30% of the ball, which was atrocious to watch.

We were piss-poor and I cant see it getting any better unless we sign some decent players. If we keep the same team for the rest of the season we will be relegated for certain.!!

Agree'd, and as Tash said, no plan B. Why bring on Diame at 1-0 down with 15 to go???

Gayle doesn't look like he can cut it as a lone striker in the EPL, get Mitro/Joeslu up next to him so he has someone to run off.

3-4-1-2 would be my shout atm especially with the crisis in defense.

It's almost as if Rafa is playing an under strength side to emphasize the squad weakness to gain additional funding.

And again I know they aren't in his plans but Hanley, Haidara, Lazaar and gamez could have all filled a spot on the bench in case of a few more defensive injuries but Saviet and Diame got the nod?

I can understand Saivet. But either Haidara or Gamez should have been on the bench.

Well believe or not he is a LB and we didn't play with a LB on the pitch. Lazaar was in Girona and Gamez is as old as I am.

I did think that Mbemba did quite well there on Sunday. Certainly better than Haidara would have done <whistle>

I agree, Mbemba did well - better than Dummett would have done. Haidara has never been given a chance - and I don't mean a one off game once a season. Not sure how good or crap he really is as he never played. Same goes for Lazaar.

It made no sense at all to bring Diame on. Just a wasted substitution - but then Rafa has never convinced in his whole time here with this side of things. It was crying out for Mitro. He had him stripped at one point.

Diame and his continual selection baffles me.
What does he have on Rafa?
