Remy on loan. Makes sense with the rape allegations. If it's true I really hope we include a clause to buy for a set fee. If not and QPR get promoted this year then it'll be much more difficult to bring him in permanently.

If we can pull these two off then the transfer window will have turned from looking to be an abject failure to actually being very successful. Of course we'd have to not sell anyone decent before it closes, but I wouldn't be overly concerned if we signed no one else.

According to Lee Ryder we offered £6m for Gomis yesterday which was rejected and we were told to come back with £8.6m. We've gone back today with a £6.9m offer which is a good price given his contractual situation. He also says that Newcastle is Gomis' preferred destination and that he has gone AWOL in order to try and force the move to us - Ben Arfa style. Hopefully they accept it our new bid.

They will fall through

Lyon would be mad to reject £6.9million in this situation. It's a serious bid, so quite hopeful.

With Remy... Depends really if we are offering a loan fee and then a later buy fee which would bring the total up to the clause they might take it to help with the wage bill. They are in need of strikers though so if we are really considering loaning out Campbell so he gets week in week out first team football, why not a years loan to QPR to sweeten the deal?

The rape allegations shouldn't make a blind bit of difference to the deal.

I think the loan deal is due to the fact that we don't want to spend much on a player that will cost us at least 50k a week in wages.

Remy showed enough to suggest that he could be a serious striker in the PL, Gomis obviously unproven. Though sticking around one of the top teams in France for so long indicates that he could make the transition. Could be quite the pairing.

Good news if true but my overly optimistic view has been replaced with a "i'll believe it when they sign" attitude....

Also think we still need a full back in to compete with Debuchy and santon!

Seriously? The fact he might be sent to prison shouldn't be taken into account by our owner when deciding whether to fork out £6 - £8 million on the player? It's almost certainly what has put other clubs off of making a bid and getting him in on loan makes perfect sense if a buy clause is included as it negates that risk.

If this was anyone other than Ashley pulling the strings, you would say any possible imprisonment would bee taken into account in any dealings. Its not exactly something that oyu would evem go to say as being savvy. Unfortunately your head honcho is a loose cannon, a very loose cannon indeed.

He doesn't really have a track record of gambling with his money where signing us players is concerned.

We need a LB. Santon is a natural RB and so Santon should be experiencing competition from a LB contender and Debuchy feeling competiton from Santon then in that respect

Am I the only one that doesn't want to see Remy here? I know I sound like a broken record, but the kid is bad news. And will continue to be bad news. It was a blessing in disguise when he chose QPR over us, and I can't lie, I'd be fine if he stays there. I've watched him most of his career, and while his talent is undeniable, so is his penchant for causing unrest in the locker room and his bad attitude.
