As the other lads have said, haven't really paid too much attention to you guys (my flatmate is a Manure fan so saw your game against them and was impressed!)

Ruddy was in the BBC team of the week and it said there he is 2nd in the shots-to-save ratio table, only being beaten by Krul.

It goes to show the importance of a good keeper and we've been spoiled at Newcastle for years!

On current form, Krul is No.1 and we all know he can pull out a 'worldie' in the big games:

The above video is his debut. He is 17. We were playing Palermo in the UEFA Cup. We were injury ravaged and half the players who WERE on the pitch were crocked. Palermo were having their best start to the season in years and had spanked then champions AC Milan away in their last game! (Bit of pub quiz trivia for you - we also handed a debut to Andy Carroll in that game as well!)

I won't make a statement like he's the best until i've seen him have his confidence shaken. thats when you'll see if hes made of the right stuff. when on form hes as good as anybody but wait til he drops a clanger, and he will at some point and see how quickly he gets over it and back to his best. thats the mark of a good keeper. it was only a few seasons ago when van der sar had a massive wobble and people were saying he was finished and then he came back from the wobble as good as ever.

As ou number 1 he will n longer being able to hide behind the tag of No. 2 standing in/protege. all responsibilty will land on his shoulders and he has to be able to recover his confidence quickly.
