Is New Tredegar a suburb of Swansea? You'll be claiming Darcy Blake as a Swansea boy next, seeing as they went to the same school and hung out together.
It's amazing what you can do with photoshop nowadays Congratualtions to Nathan for a hard earned defence tonight
Well done Nathan. Well I carb-loaded and am up early and ready to roll. Good luck to Irish and john hughs, have a good race and hope you get the performance you both wish for.
Hope you had a good run everyone. I thought that course was a bit tough today especially with all the extra hills. That definitely wasn't a flat route! Got home in 2 hours 35minutes and £600 in the kitty for Velindre Cancer Care.
Well done Irish - especially the fund-raising, fantastic. It's not as flat as previous years I agree, but sill one of the flattest and fastest halves in the country. I managed a reasonable 1:28, not a PB but I'm content due to a piss-poor training year. Got London Marathon entry for next April, so need to put some effort in.
Cheers guys! It was a great day, lovely weather (for the spectators) and I think the event will go from strength to strength. Had a few scoops in the Wharf after, home and watched Independence Day with my youngest alongside a few more beers Head's a bit sore this morning - I blame the dehydration from running! I've done London a few times before so know what to expect. However, it's always getting harder chasing the next PB, I'm no spring-chicken either. Off out for a few "slow recovery miles" in a bit. Let us know how you do in Frankfurt taff at the end of the month?

For Daz & Irish, completed my stages of the Frankfurt marathon in 1 hour 58 minutes. The downside, my stages were cut short to just 19km so 2km shy of the half marathon having said that I was glad as I had a sore hip from the 8 km point which was a tad annoying. Hats off to the folks who run a full marathon, must be awesome for them when they cross the finish line. I may well look at an attempt myself
Hey well done Taff. That's an excellent result for a (nearly) half marathon. I did the Cardiff nearly last year also which was cut shorton the day because of some safety issues over scaffolding on the course. Hope you enjoyed it and keep on running,
Oooh - only just saw this. Well done taff, hope the hip recovers soon. Come and join us and do a Full, I hear Berlin is the worlds fastest, so quite good for you. I also did the Cardiff (nearly) Half last year, as I have done for numerous years, even running the last Cardiff Full Mara in 06. Some people who thought they had PBs for a Half were not impressed. Am enjoying a month off running, before proper training commences next month.
No worries Daz, it was fun, I am actually contemplating a full marathon next. Any idea of any web sites where there are training programs?
taff - I use Runners World a lot. There are plans on there for training for all distance events. I personally use Hal Higdon training plans, just google his name. You need to pick a program that best suits with your ambitions for the race, and more importantly that best fits around all your other commitments. Then you're more likely to stick to it. Try here: http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/racing/big-marathon-index/813.html I'm registered on RW with the same name. Feel free to ask if you need owt else.
