I hope we finish above every team in the league. However, I would be very surprised if Pompey finish above Brighton. Our rivalry with Portsmouth is a bit of a non-starter this season. It will only be important when we play them.

Old habits die hard - I'm still calculating enough points to make sure we are safe!! Another 30 to go!!!

Manager's have to play with a style that wins them games. If Poyet had our team he might play more exciting football. He plays to stop the opposition scoring then win by a goal or two. We expect to score and sometimes get caught out. My target is to finish above Brighton because then we'd be near the top...we will never finish below Portsmouth this season.

I love that the leicester fans paid us a compliment like that. The commentators on birmingham's radio station yesterday said near enough the same thing.

As Nige would say, take it one game at a time. I think we can start to look at the league table after christmas.

But the head to heads that I care most about are Portsmouth and Reading. I work with 4 or 5 Reading season ticket holders, so to beat them at madesjki and st mary's would probably complete my life. Obviously, beating pompey at Crap Not Half would be amazing as well.

You have to remember how Brighton win their games, they bore you to sleep, then you find you are a couple pf goals down and lose to them!! OK I may be exaggerating a tad. Last year they were the kings of delays and time wasting. They slow the game down to make you make mistakes. They certainly do not let you play fast flowing football. If you are going to beat them you have to be better at controlling the pace of the game than them. Simples..............

I think Poyet's comments last week about wanting to move onto bigger things wouldn't have done them any favours. It sounds biased but I'd rather have Nige over Poyet any day, at least we know we'll NEVER, EVER play for a point under Adkins.

You can throw around as many negatives about Brighton as you like - boring, lucky and time-wasters being some of the most common - but the simple fact is that they win games. And that should be respected, and certainly be accepted as fact.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they finished in the top 6, and nor would i if they finish above us.

Think we need to be a bit more gracious here guys.
Brighton have come a long way in recent times & their new stadium is terrific, if slightly on the small side at this moment. God knows where you can park your car around there!
I personally do not like Poyet but he has delivered there that,s for sure.
And Mickael Smith is a handful with bags of pace & has a very good engine.
Of course we want to finish above them & hopefully we will.
Pompey? the best they are likely to achieve in the next few years is the updating of the toilets. Their new owners are quite excited about that!

Tbh id rather play our style off football then brightons, yes brighton have done well. But all they seem to do is foul/ do niggling little tackles to annoy the other team. Their a dirty team in my eyes.

welcome to the championship folks. interesting to read that our next game @ brighton is a home crowd sell out. is this the norm or is it because the mighty tigers are in town soon ? how many away fans can your ground now take please ? many thanks and good luck after the 15th.

Not wanting to rain on your parade (I'm sure Hull are lovely), but most games at Brighton will be a sell out. They have a new ground and have a lot of season ticket holders, with only a few single game tickets available.
In answer to the question of parking, I was on a coach returning to the Isle of Wight and we had to take a diversion because a road was closed for parking for the match at Falmer so they do have a designated car park.

i had a feeling it was something like that. i have heard that youv 18,500 season ticket sales. but thats good if you can sell out each game. then again after the small WithDean ground i bet all Brighton fans are happy now. Its has all the makings of a cracker. No, you did not rain om my paraade and yes we are lovely fans as well. well most of us are at any rate. i think i shall park as designated as i notice that your ground is very limited for that. we are spoiled in hull for match day parking as there is a massive area outside the KC for cars. Can hold 20,000 cars if required.

i am very surprised to see that the post code for the Amex Ground BN1 9BL is not a valid code for aa auto route rac route planner or sat navs. But the code for the university near by does work ok. strange but true.
