Marco Van Basten once told Ibrahimovic that a striker should never work hard defending as it tires him out from his actual job of scoring. Didn't cause these two any harm did it? As i've said, until Balotelli gets CONTINUOUS service and still doesn't score i will write him off, until then all hes got so far is a header against Spurs, a impossible save from Howard and scraps for the rest. The support he has really need to be looking at themselves, for me they are the problem.
Only just reading it Fair enough on mentioning those two players but that's not going to make us suddenly start scoring either.
He told both they could leave, Enrique too. He also did it to Downing who picked up for a while but was still sold in the end regardless.
Maybe so but it was still a gamble most clubs wouldn't take so the point still stands; Roman will sign them regardless as he doesn't care about the loss. A club like Liverpool does care about finances and wouldn't be able to insure the player.
Although I agree with us not playing 4231, we've not really played that system. We've been playing 433 with Sterling and Markovic (or Lallana) either side of Mario.
Fair enough but they both moved when their team had possession as a result. Mario stands static whether we have the ball or not.
Rodgers has proved he's got what it takes to manage in the EPL, LVG has a lot to learn in a short space of time about the Premier League. GGMU
Disagree - you can definitely see 4-2-3-1 just by how deep Hendo is playing, and how far forward Coutinho is. Also, you can see Hendo coming deep to get the ball from the centre backs. A 4-3-3 would actually suit our players with Gerrard deepest with Coutinho and HEndo in front of him.
Against West Brom tomorrow I would like to see Borini and Balotelli up front as Borini's runs would create more opportunity for Balo. Bet we still play Balo on his own though.
It wasn't a particularly great interview when I heard it. Not because of the headline of "calculated risk", but mainly bcos of this.... "I think in terms of goals, he needs to improve. It is as simple as that. At this moment, he has not hit the numbers he will have wanted. I encourage the strikers to get into the framework of the goal, wide players to come in and get into the framework of the goal and to break the lines. "The quality of our service [against Basel] wasn’t up to the standard it should be..... You also have to make and create goals yourself and he didn’t do that." I don't see what Rodgers expects from Balotelli by going public with this. Rodgers clearly said something the week before which had had a positive impact on Balotelli for the Everton game. So what did he expect? That Balotelli was a changed man? No, you have to keep having those private conversations and encourage a player like him. This is Balotelli who completely disrespected Mancini, the one man who he thought of with fondness and high regard. The only card Rodgers holds is that Balotelli knows his name is mud, and with the amount of top strikers around at all the best clubs, if he doesn't make it at Liverpool, he could very well end up at an "also ran" club. His career could easily follow that of Anelka.
Players do get criticised I'm not disagreeing there. But it's more the fact that Balotelli is a bit unstable emotionally, and how you handle him as a manager will decide how he performs in the long run. Imo it should have been more of the same of whatever he did with Balotelli before the Everton game, regardless of his performance midweek. Who knows though, maybe Balotelli will respond to the public criticism.
I like you, completely psycho but your posting style seems familiar. Someone always used to leave a little sig at the end of their posts but can't remember who?
