His overtly downbeat assessment of the squad and his direct quote that if the same starting 11 were to start the first game next season we would not finish in the top half of the table is a strange way of putting a fire in the players' bellies, but I suppose we shall see exactly what Harry Redknapp is really made of by Christmas IMHO and whether this is some sort of psychology that results in some wanting to prove him wrong next season.

Or perhaps as NUTS said in the OT a call to TF for an open cheque book. I would go even further to say perhaps this is also Harry's way of publicly passing responsibility over to TF and the board if they wont open the cheque book close season and don't give him the money to put together a completely new team.

As the season has been so woeful it is easy to write off the entire 25 man squad and want them all out, and to forget that in that starting 11 there are a few who have individually not done a lot wrong, they've not been particularly great, but perhaps found guilty by association with the others and are accused of being uncaring money grabbers when that is probably not the case.

Green - Had some good games, is always one fumble away from a potential nightmare, but that down to his ability level, not just taking the money

Traore - Always seems to put in a shift as a winger, but cant tackle without risk of being sidelined for 3 - 4 weeks, but again that is ability and fragility not just taking the money

Onuoha - A CB played in the wrong possession by two successive managers. Has played ok (IMH0) when put in the CB berth and would be solid in the Championship if he partnered Samba. Has put in an effort when called upon to play and not here for the money

Clint Hill - The one player who escapes the accusation, but at the same time does receive criticism and at 36 should not be starting regularly next season unless we are short of quality FAST CB cover.

M'Bia - I can't make my mind up whether he is just mental, and does not "get" English football yet, or whether he is a very poor footballer who is now being found out, but again I cant accuse him of being here solely for the dough.

Jenas - Prone to errors when passing, but next year could do a job in the Championship in a better overall midfield - If he is here for the money, then by all accounts it is not very much anyway, but I think he might come good if he has the balls to stay and help put things right.

Townsend - Like Remy, too good for us, hence like Kyle Walker before him, we get a brief flirtation with a young and quality loan player and then he is taken back to go on to better things with us sending him on his way with a thanks.

Hoilett - If I was to start a song of my own at the back of SAR it would have to be "We signed Junior Hoilett, turns out he is toilet". Whether his confidence is shot to pieces and playing in a atrocious side has ensured he has not been able to regain it, or whether he thinks he is too good for us and only came for a big pay day and thinks he will waltz into another Premier League team, who knows. But an absolute let down this season. It remains to be seen whether his agent can engineer a move over the summer or whether Harry can sort out his first touch and make him a decent Championship player.

Remy - See Townsend. Thanks and adios, best of luck at Arsenal and I hope you do turn out to be the next Thierry Henry.

Bobby Zamora - "How do you solve a problem like Maria". Where do you start. Is it a case that he is actually a hero for playing through a serious injury and is trying to earn his keep, or is he just past it and making excuses whilst taking home big pay? Who knows, but I dont want us relying on him and Andy Johnson next season because by week 4 we will be back to playing Taarbs and Mackie as the spearhead of our attack.
