Doubtful mate. We've won one major trophy in our existence so I can't see us suddenly doing the league and cup double
Chelsea and City dropped points last night. If not us, then who? Spurs look in a strong position and have a manager who knows how to win....even if it’s is dour football at times. If we buy the right player early in January, we’ve still got a strong shout. However, if we don’t, then I’d tend to agree that it will be too much to ask. We played an entire PL half with the midfielders in defence on Sunday. That’s not normal, even if we did that half.
We'll most likely sign 1 CB but if we can get 2, that would be great. It would also allow us to move Fabinho back into midfield which is crucial.
I think that Fab will be playing at CB for the foreseeable future. Thiago will come in and play alongside Hendo and Gini....which should be enough to encourage Gini to sign.
Depends on the latest expected return dates for Gomez and Virgil. If we are not going to see them again this season then we will surely bring one CB in. R. Williams and Phillips have done remarkably well but should we be depending on them as back ups going in to the winter fixtures?
I don't expect us to panic buy but we do have to buy at least 1 CB. If it means we pay a premium, then so be it. We cannot go for the rest of the season relying on Matip, and expecting Fabinho to play in CB.
We will though. They'll big up Williams and Phillips and play Milner CB when his hammy gets better. And don't think that's the last we've seen of Hendo at CB either. But FSG will still expect the payments for the stand to be paid, I expect.
We might do, but equally we might not. Don't get your hopes up Jim, you'll only do yourself a mischief if it doesn't happen. Also, I think you'd better resign yourself to seeing Fab at CB for a while yet.
