Surprising. You come across as someone still at university with the (mistaken) attitude they are intellectually superior to everyone else. I assumed you had only started going recently given your willingness to let go of traditions. I started supporting Hull City AFC, nickname The Tigers. I can just about, although unwillingly, cope with Hull City Tigers but the day it becomes Hull Tigers, and it will, then I will not want to support a club which sounds more like an American franchise or a team in the minority sport of rugby league and it will be an end to my over 50 years of going to City. My wife doesn't believe me but I would not go anymore.
At last a sensible thread, I agree the Allams should have thought this through, but personally it doesnt bother me and ive been going to City since 1966. There are more important things in life, times change and we move on, its still our local team whatever they do to the name. £ 60m invest and premier league football better than what people like Fish, Lloyd and Duffen did to this club Cum on u Ull
I don't have to justify the Tigers History thread, the stories people have written in it are justification enough. You think losing the letters 'AFC' from the name and putting the emphasis instead on 'Tigers' will "end our club's lifespan"? That pretty much exposes just how lost you are when the debate moves further than name-calling.
Concentrate pls Craig. You started the thread- this signifies you were the one who was interested in people's recollections. If not , why start a thread in which you have zero interest? Name caller, heal thyself.
I was interested in people's recollections and still am. That doesn't change because we get a new strip every season and it won't change if we're called Hull City Tigers.
Why doesn't it change? We'll stop being the club we've been for 109 years (for no good reason) and start being some new entity with a crass name (unlikely to last) that is the misguided whim of the current owner.
Which thread do you think we're talking about, spunk breath? I was referring to craig's 'sticky' thread about recollections of the past.
He's talking about the Tigers History thread. Apparently there's some sort of point he's struggling to make.
You're damn right - I need to write in shorter monosyllabic sentences and adopt a more patient approach.
Are you asking me why I'm still interested in the fan's recollections now the club name is changing? What exactly is the connection? "We'll stop being the club we've been for 109 years (for no good reason) and start being some new entity.." ... All I need to do is let you talk.
