It's not even global. It's only people in this country who are taking the piss. And the name won't make any change in our fortunes abroad. Nowt will change. Because nobody will take a blind bit of notice. Which defeats the whole point of him doing it.
I'm not 'not bothered' but at the same time I'm not outraged either, we will still be known as Hull City, but with Tigers rather than AFC in this country, I never say or refer to the AFC bit of our original name, and am more concerned about how we do on the pitch. It's a bit like when Facebook changes their layout, everyone's mega pissed off for a while but then everyone gets used to it. It's certainly not as bad as what Cardiff did with changing their kit which I think is worse
Kempton, you also.missed off being responsible for all the bad things in the world like global warming, the recession, terrorism, starvation in Africa, Leeds united and piers Morgan
It's an important debate and I'm willing to listen to reasoned arguments, but the personal insults some are stooping to only convince me they're idiots.
Thankfully Steve Bruce is concentrating on more important issues. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....ity-bruce-relaxed-about-name-change-1-5948152
Not when I'm trying to engage in an intelligent debate about a serious subject. Of course generally I'll use insults when they're appropriate. Understand what I mean ****wit?
What has shocked me most in this debate is the shallowness of the posters on here, they seem to support AFC and not the club. I've even seen poster who would like to see the club fail if the AFC is not kept. Rather see the club with AFC in the conference than without in the Premier! and they profess to be supporters? Thankfully I feel that they are the vocal minority and once the season has started they will be brushed aside.
Not everyone has the intelligence to make a cogent point in an argument. They're usually the ones making a lot of noise around the edges of it.
I take it you are pretty young, Craig. Which would explain your lack of insight in this matter. When did you start going to Hull City AFC as a matter of interest?
I'm not trying to defend Craig, but since when did when someone start going have anything to do with it?
1979 and I was fifteen. Thanks for the compliment and I'm more than happy to hear your great insight on the subject.
The thing that mystifies me about hypocrites like you Craig is that you start a big thread about people's memories of Tiger times gone by (as if you place some kind of value on tradition, heritage and the club identity) yet you seem to feel that ending our club's lifespan would be no great loss. Baffling. A Milliband style U turn it would seem.
