Gordon hit it low and hard across the keeper and then it dropped to longstaff and he decided to fall over again. Seriously Longstaff is so crap it's beyond a joke.
When he doesn't score from an easy hit, people knock him for it. No matter what you tell me, he isn't a natural striker. We should have just signed a goal scorer last summer and not had this insane idea that Wilson and Isak would be enough
That's an insane decision, don't care if some on here want to **** off every decision Tino being behind Trippier in this 11 is a ****ing **** decision. I don't give a **** if Trippier plays well now and again, he's finished. Trippier ain't Javier Zanetti and this ain't Italy. Bring on Tino ffs
Back four average age was about 32. Desperately need a new LB and RCB, but also need a GK, CF, RW and DM. We'll end up - guaranteed - 3 players short because Howe loves the likes of Trippier, Burn, Longstaff, Murphy. The only player they tried to sell in Jan was Almiron. Don't get me wrong, he also needs replacing, but in the list of players we need shot of he's not exactly top.
Howe hasn't got a clue basically .. he's built a side devoid of pace in the back 4 and midfield and wanted Phillips to help with it.
The performance wasn't good. Our passing was too slow and usually backwards. Maybe the Arsenal game knacked what tiny threads of confidence there was in the group, manager included. Bruno had a poor game - but IMO superman's allowed a poor game. But by Longstaff's own average standards, he was poor. As was Murphy - barely a single decent contribution. And Lascelles was his usual self. These three have to be moved on. Sure, Blackburn were up for it and seemed to give it a good go - It was the FA Cup after all. I'm not calling for a change of management. Eddie clearly is his own man and does what he likes. I don't understand all his decisions. I suppose that I've already written this season off due to long term injuries (and a suspension) of too many. We're shipping too many goals and I don't see a fix without a couple of faster defenders and a holding midfielder. The lack of strikers is a strange one. Doubt it's Eddie Howe's fault. Maybe Ashworth had ceased to be on his game.
The season has basically ended for Newcastle Tonight. All about the summer and decisions that could dictate the next decade.
