Why are we so divided on our opinion of Steve Lansdown because some of the banter is a little testy for my liking and we need to calm down a bit. The facts are that SL is the owner of Bristol City and as such he has the ultimate responsibility for who comes and who goes at the club and so there is no room for questioning that fact. Whether we like him or not he is the man who asks the questions and his subordinates are supposed to come up with the answers, because that's the way it works, and we as mere minions will never be allowed to know the truth regarding personal friction within the boardroom. I have posted many threads criticising SL but I certainly can't say I dislike him but rather question some of the decisions made by him. We have gone through many critical times at Bristol City and unfortunately this is yet another one that only goes to highlight our inability to get things right. The decisions to be made over the next few weeks will highlight whether we finally have the gumption and desire to put our shaky past in to the history books and close the cover, or will we just stumble to the next page?
Football - I don't mind giving an opinion. Not so sure about 'Upstairs'. The difference between us and Rovers ? Is it not that we have SL and they have Higgs. However bad some fans think of SL, I'm glad he's with us. I'm as mad and pi**ed off as any fan emanating from last summer's transfer debacle. Pi**ed off really doesn't come close but please God we've learned the hard way. Let's pray we appoint a proven Championship manager, survive this season and that the 'football side' is put right. I know we've heard that before but what else as mere mortals can we do. The 'other side' to BCFC is looking great. I'm proud as hell about our revamped Stadium - we've got that at least, and surely massive thanks is owed to SL.

You wouldn't stake your house on it being done correctly and with the desired outcome now would you......?
The trouble is Redprintt, we haven't learned anything for nearly 40 years. the few times we actually have thought we had a winning formula it all goes tits up in a spectacular way. It's as if the football God has decreed that we must always be a Div 3 outfit
