England’s first match of the World Cup I think may hold the key to their progress. Most will agree that Costa Rica look like the whipping boys of the Group, so it is a three horse race. The pundits are all predicting a draw against Italy and I think Roy Hodgson would settle for that if they can shut down Andrea Pirlo, the veteran linchpin of the Azzurri midfield. I think defeat would be as good as the end of England’s campaign. I cannot see them getting out of the Group if Uruguay and Italy claim three points from their first games. Therefore, I am going to say that the bet tonight is England to beat Italy. Hodgson needs to use the kids like Raheem Sterling and go at the game like it were a knockout competition. There is no penalty shootout to lose and no extra time and the climate/pitch is just as bad for both teams: play like Liverpool for the first twenty minutes and go all-out attack. If England sit back and rely on Joe Hart, he is not up to the job and neither are a couple of the expected back four. At least the game is not on ITV so we are spared the dreadful Andy Townsend...

Look at previous posts, its a competition on predicting ALL daily results ie. naming England 1- Italy 1, Colombia 5 Greece 6 etc.. not writing short stories about one match. You try predict all the games and Ste will tot it up come the end.
I confidently predict that Uruguay have the worst kit in the entire tournament. Shirts cut so tight that you can see their moobs, shorts way too long and baggy. Quite simply terrible
