    Military?

    GTF

I never claimed to be in the military.

    Army, Navy = Military Forces
RAF = Forced to be military

    We resisted too.

An Order in Army and Navy = obeyed instantly, without question or thought.
An Order in RAF = An invitation to discuss someones, usually senior, suggestion which invited questioning and discussion.

That second one meant working joint force stuff was sometimes quite amusing.

Btw ya cheeky ****er, I've been on exercise with the Royal Irish, running through streams, over boggy land, seeking cover and executing perfect military manouevers whilst the squad I was with was laying down live fire.

Course, the RSM hadda carry me camera bag, and me bergen, and me sleeping bag, as well as all his own ****, I'd never have kept up with the ****ers otherwise. Got some nice photos mind and didn't get killed by the psychos when I delivered them to their bar a few days later.

Anyhoo, few bottles of Ruddles County for me tonight. Reminds of when I was roughing it in Rutland.

Have I mentioned the Registrar there was a bitch? I think I have.

    Beer's nice mind.

I had my last bottle of Bush Ambree in my Bush glass. At 12% not really a session beer.

Well I've got Manchester Whisky Festival tomorrow - 11am start and unlimited whisky for just £20, (now that's what I call real value for Saturday entertainment).

And then Salford Beer Festival next week - this does look very interesting with some of the most unique ales I've seen listed for a beer festival. http://salfordbeerfestival.com/breweries-and-beer/

And then I reckon a liver transplant the week after. <cheers>

Edit: Atom Beers, Hull - Peach and Chinese white tea ale! WTF?

    From the festival website:

"Pavlov’s Dog – Peach Iced Tea Blonde – 4.0% abv

40 kilos of fresh peaches and 5 kilos of Chinese white tea have been crammed into a luscious blonde ale brewed with pilsner malt, Carapils and acidulated malt. A huge hit of juicy peach and bready malt will crash across your tongue, followed by a smokey, earthy white tea that provides a tannic backbone to make you have another sup."

I do like trying different stuff but this sounds mental. So it'll probably be first on my list next week.

It was about 1982 and I hit someone on the train from Beverley to Hull because they didn't support City. Not my finest hour.

When we got to Hull, we bumped into some Navy lads (ship was in port here for some reason) and one of the territorieals said 'hello sailor' as we walked past and it all kicked off.

One of the lads with us was on leave from the Royal Navy Display Team and he sorted it sharpish (verbally, he didn't twat anyone). It was a messy afternoon/evening, it's really no wonder my pancreas is ****ed.

I used to train five nights a week with Paul (the RNDT lad) when he was on leave, I was seriously fit back then, I've no idea where it all went wrong.

I tried the Twin Peaks last night, American flavours, quite a light beer, with a good little bite to it. I will be buying this again.

Will be on the rest tonight.
