We were worried about our dependence on Maddison, but we actually improved as a team once he was gone, partly because the other players had to step up in his absence. Of course, the situation with Buendia is not necessarily the same. I've always thought the difference in results with and without Buendia is a lot to do with his understanding with Pukki. Once Buendia has gone, we will have to tweak our attacking style, I think.
It was Vrančić who provided the assist for the opening goal and IMO he's done well. Cantwell has had his best match for a while as well. When they're clicking we're a much better team. Giannoulis has also looked good.
IF we manage to go up Buendia may want to stick around and play Premier league football. If Arsenal don't qualify for Europe the move won't look so tempting
Cantwell seems to play a lot better when Buendia is in the team. Maybe this is because the other team focus on Emi and this gives Todd that extra bit of space?
