I know we were a bit wasteful in front of goal, but Rotherham were certainly a lot better than their position would suggest - esp in the 2nd half.
Yup - at least most of the away games. Some clubs haven't signed up to iFollow. The downside is when your team is successful, Sky etc tend to nab more games
I would happily pay about £120 for a whole season guaranteed every game and you can watch on a smart TV. In China every single Premier league game is on match choice on IPTV which is free I think.
In fairness, I only did it this season to contribute to the clubs coffers - but it has been quite a good investment
I can't but help think all these games so tightly packed in leaves hardly any time to prepare for the games and is perhaps the reason (along with 5 substitutes allowed) why we have been less rampant this year. All we can do is rely on telepathy between Buendia and Pukki and a few random things we can focus on in training. Can anyone isolate the games that we have had a week off to prepare and see if we have been getting better results or perhaps I'm talking total rubbish? Next stop - Birmingham!
So after a quick scan of our results - With less than a week to prepare - 18 games played 12 wins 4 draws 2 losses Scored more than 1 goal on 10 occasions. With a week or more to prepare - 15 games played 8 wins 3 draws 4 losses Scored more than one goal on 4 occasions. Conclusion. Perhaps our squad depth gives us the edge when the calendar gets busy.
The win on paper looks narrow but just watched those highlights. With even slightly better finishing the result could have very easily been 3-0 and none of us would have considered such a result at all lucky. Hope a lesson has been learned about being more precise and clinical - we will need this when Brentford come to town!
just you wait Rob. Ive got my points after 38/39/40 games in last 10 seasons threads to update soon! Its already looking PROPERLY SCINTILLATING.
Look forward to that BC. As for preparation for matches that seems to be the same when both teams have the same time available. A noticeable difference was our match at Swansea when we had a mid-week match before but they didn't, so their preparations were very different and we had the cross-country journey as well. That showed in the play. The counter side of that now is that Swansea have to fit in two extra games in hand, which will produce an even more compressed end of season run for them.
I think whether Toney is back from injury will be more of a factor. With 24 goals and 9 assists they are a different team without him. Edit - Also they are probably without Henry now (hamstring), Jansson might be back from injury, Norgaard poss. Thats 4 big players potentially still out.
A couple of looks at the goal and I think Cantwell deserves the definition of assist to be updated because his movement and step over was absolutely critical to the goal even though he didn’t touch the ball
yup, its fantastic awareness from Cantwell. As a young chap he's already showing glimpses of an excellent footballing brain.
Agreed. I would also like to mention the sheer class of Buendia's back heel that put Pukki in. Shame he didn't score because that would have been some assist. To back heel like that at that speed while sending the defender the wrong way. Wow.
