This Sunday we’re back to Carrow Road for the visit of Millwall. The Lions have had a mixed start to their Championship season beating Middlesbrough on the opening day before getting thumped by Reading in the cup, and going down 0-1 at home to Bristol City last weekend. Norwich has a good record against Millwall winning 6 of the past 7 fixtures at Carrow Road including the unforgettable last minute 4-3 win in our 2018/19 promotion season courtesy of Pukki’s 97th minute winner:

This weekend’s Norwich line up shouldn’t have too many surprises given the positive start we’ve enjoyed. Perhaps the only question being did Placheta do enough in the cup game to replace the now injured Hernandez (or Giannoulis) on the left? Springett picked up an injury during the cup victory over QPR so some bench shuffling will be required either way. Whoscored suggest we’ll see Fassnacht starting on the left which could be interesting, though prior to Wagner’s pre-game press conference, I’d expect more of the same for now.

Millwall don’t have much in the way of injury concerns with just George Honeyman on the physio table. They are however lighter 1x goalkeeper following Webber’s “swoop” for George Long on a free transfer who will provide backup for Angus now that Tim Krul has departed for Luton. George Long’s availability was triggered with Millwall’s purchase of new keeper Matija Sarkic plus they have outlaid this summer on midfielder Casper De Norre and forward Kevin Nisbet from Hibs.

Sunday is of course a double-header with the Lionesses support act kicking off at 11:00 before the main event at high noon. Good luck ENGLAND. Let’s hope it’s a double celebration by Sunday afternoon. <magic>

I will be watching the girls on TV and Norwich on my ipad

Team News from the presser:
  • Tony Springett (left ankle) is fit and available after leaving QPR with his foot in a protective boot.
  • Onel Hernandez (broken hand/wrist) ruled out this weekend. No surgery required. Further assessment required.
  • No other fitness issues from those on duty at Loftus Road.
  • Jacob Sorensen underwent successful minor surgery for a pelvic issue. Scheduled to return to training in the international break.
  • Borja Sainz and Jonathan Tomkinson targeting returns from ankle injuries the other side of the upcoming international break.

What are we thinking lineup-wise for Sunday? I presume unchanged from Southampton, other than Fassnacht coming in for Onel? I imagine Springett/Placheta haven't quite made enough of a case to start in a wide midfield role just yet.
