Surprised you think a lot needs to go against us. I can't see it that way, it's between us and Newcastle
It's SOOOOOO obvious! Bringing Ruddy in will BOOST the team's morale massively. We are talking about the England NO.2, who is one of the best GKs in the entire PL. How can that fail to lift the team? Bunn is a bloody midget hence he couldnt reach either of the 2 goals, whereas Ruddy might!!!
It has to go down as a poor defensive performance though. You said we were mugged but we gave them both goals. And when all is said and done, we wanted and needed to win and even worse we lost. There is no comfort this evening.
I agree that in the first goal, Abonglahor should have been closed down and Bassong got his position slightly wrong for the second, but to be honest they aren't exactly glaring defensive errors. If you have a player who can score from 30 yards out like that there is not a lot you can do.
Let's play count the binner troll - watch out lads, here they come and it appears to be in greater numbers this week. With my warped imagination, I am guessing the poor sods are walking about with hard on's about our misfortune - something must be missing in their lives huh?
It's the margins that count - Ruddy would have got a hand to the first and probably saved the goal last week against Stoke. The second goal today was awful from Bunn - he flopped to the floor, was completely flat footed. Ruddy is a good size. Strikers think twice against the bigger goalie. I can't believe Ruddy wasn't between the sticks. Is Bunn in the shop window? Or is Ruddy not playing because we fear someone coming in to buy him? Either way it's bad management.
I stated way back at the Liverpool game - Bunny is too short! He has done well overall and I don't want to slag him off as he does not deserve that, but he is too short and I have lost count of the number of crosses or shots that have beaten him by just 1 or 2 inches. I was happy enough for him to keep his place - until now. If Ruddy is fit enough then I think we have to play him.
I don't want to turn Bunn into a scapegoat. He has done very very well as a replacement for Ruddy. None of the blame should be laid at his door. The blame lies with Hughton, who didn't even have the courage to play the England No 2 goalie because it was a bit of a risk. Well, Chris, life is about risk. And your total unwillingness to take even the slightest risk is going to put our club back in the Championship. You have spent this season telling anyone who will listen how mediocre our players are. No, Mr Hughton, YOU are the mediocre one. YOU are the one without guts. YOU are the one who will lose this kind of crunch game whereas someone like PL will always win it. Stop slagging off your players and get out of here.
I don't think so. Everyone has a tough game on the last day and neither West Brom nor Man City have anything to play for. Norwich are in with three other teams really, there are three other sides who are equally poor and equally in the ****e. Wigan actually have to do the business, a draw in midweek for them won't be enough. Sunderland need to get at least a point at Stoke. Newcastle must beat QPR. Norwich could feasibly not pick up another point and survive because they're the ones with their noses just ahead.
Hamps, I cannot possibly fathom why you want to fight the Norwich corner when most fans (myself included) would have the utmost delight in their rivals predicament. However, you are right; Newcastle fans also think they are doomed (or at least they did after Newcastle game) and we can't both go down.
Disagree actually hamps, if that comes to the last day wigan have villa, after all the **** lambert got from mcnasty, could be revenge is sweet!
Villa look pretty impressive at the moment. I would more fancy Norwich getting a point against Man City who will've clocked off.
And all the others who have quotes in their sigs like "With the present board Norwich will never establish themselves as a Premier League outfit."
For someone who finds swearing so unpleasant Thai it doesn't surprise me to see you use that word http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/joepublic/2011/oct/19/ricky-gervais-mong-twitter
If you and I went fishing on one of my favourite lakes in the Nene valley, a nice summers day, a few cold beers, you and I would get along just fine...I'd teach you the intricacies of the bolt rig...****, I'd even teach you how to catch carp!
I've tried to remain positive, but I really can't see us staying up even if we some how manage to beat West Brom. Wigan have 3 games and will probably win 2 of them, Sunderland and Newcastle I have a feeling will win 1 more game and I can't see us beating Man City. Didn't think we played that badly yesterday though, but just not good enough either.
