Unless Boro can perform the ‘Great Escape’, we could be 5 points clear of 3rd until Monday evening. Who wouldn’t have taken that at the start of the season???? Stats for goal attempts Key GA – Attempts ST – On target OT – Off target BL - Blocked
Why should it? only the end results matter. Beginning to think you're trolling and on the wind up lol
https://www.skysports.com/football/norwich-vs-rotherham/392777 The pass from TC to Aarons = #sublime #whoneedsjm I see he scored today as well!!!
We're back to averaging 2 points per game now. Villa currently doing us a favour against Boro gives us a 5 point gap to 3rd. When do we start believing that an auto spot is not just a dream?
Boro lost 0-3 to Villa, which gives a big knock to their automatic promotion hopes. WBA are at home to Brentford on Monday night and could close the gap to 3 points. There's now a 6 point gap over 5th, 6th and 7th, however, and a 9 point gap over 8th place. The next 3 matches to the halfway point could be very important.
My god I love Max. For long periods he was our only plus point! Every time the ball is near him. I love everything he does. He is such a talent. Emi was also incredible. I can’t think of many players like him. His mix of positives don’t usually go together as a player, especially as anattacking midfielder. Pukki should have had a hattrick. He missed some really easy chances. BUT. His running, his work rate. He sprints to press the Keeper, he sprints off the shoulder. He looked knackered, but as usual Farke forgot we can make subs. Pukki ran himself out, wish we rested him earlier. There were norwich players on the floor at the whistle. Like we lost a cup final after extra time. Because they worked so hard again, but never get subbed, again. We need to rest or protect when we can. After 82 minutes doesn’t do that.
With good squad depth and quality we should use more rotation. Leitner has at last had a break through injury, but Pukki is working very hard for club and country. With the packed Christmas coming up the physical demand on players will be heavy. WhoScored rated Cantwell as 9.6 and MotM. That's the highest I can remember in a while. Aarons was 8.0, Pukki and Buendia had 7.8, with Stiepermann on 7.6.
Great posts FML and Rick. I remember only too about 5 Months ago posters almost going into ‘meltdown’ as we had to sell JM and JM (Josh) and those same posters saying ‘where are the goals going to come from???’ I’m pretty that over the past 5 games, we have had 8 (yes 8!! DIFFERENT* players score goals!!) and my estimate of 80 might be low. Can you name the 8 different layers to score since Oct 1st??? Not including the OG at Swansea!!!

PD’s player ratings – I can’t remember seeing SOOOO many scores 7 and above with a couple of 8s and a thoroughly deserved 9 for MotM TC https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...onship-win-against-rotherham-united-1-5802842. Edit Nabbed from MFW - ‘The ‘highligh’ for me – the old boy on the train who came out with the line, “I thought Cantwell was poor today.” If one goal and one assist is poor, I think most of us will take that each week.' #shouldhavegonetospecsavers
Great result yesterday. And some fantastic, workmanlike performances across the pitch. Just one thing though... is it just me who thinks Cantwell is being slightly overhyped? Yes, it was a brilliant finish and a great cross as well, for Aarons' goal... but up until his goal, Todd had been pretty ineffectual. He has a Murphy-like weakness on the ball at times, loves a back pass and isn't the quickest. Don't get me wrong, i hope he is to be the player everyone else thinks he will be, but for me, he isn't even close to being as good as Aarons, Lewis and Buendía yet. Can anyone explain what I have missed in his performances (aside from 2 good moments yesterday) that have made him so highly thought of?
Cantwell reminds me of Morrison in his early games last season. To compare him with Aarons, Lewis and Buendía you need to go back to their breakthrough games, where moments of brilliance were mixed with occasional errors. There's fewer of those now than in his previous early games but he's taking on difficult skills which he uses instinctively. He can't beat players with pace, so he has to do it with trickery and skilful passing. Like others, he found that difficult in the first half but came to life when the pace of passing picked up in the second half. His goal got us going and his assist put us ahead. He's still young and will improve (this was his first game back). His MotM performance, goal and assist will give him confidence to push on and produce more in the future.
I woke up in the middle of the night... Norwich 0-1 and then just before I went to bed again 1-1 woke up at 4 in the morning 3-1 read half the BBC report and went to bed, woke up again to get ready for work and had to check this wasn't some crazy dream
