What??!!? Just woken up after a long flight to see this result. Did Norwich have more to play for than us of something? Horrible.

Because of our shocking goal difference we were just two points off being relegated. Bollockings all round I hope.

Now for our traditional brilliantly organised preseason, where we go on tour and half the games are cancelled, nobody wants to buy Caulker, we buy and sell a few players making no discernible difference, all leading up to Ollie being sacked in November, with someone else that none of us really wants taking over. Sometimes predictability is comforting.

Sounds like a game plan.
I'd love to place a bet on this happening but my odds would probably be equal money.

The team performance overall has been bad enough but Ollie would have to have been the biggest disappointment of the season.
I really expected better.

I feel you sentiment. But I don't think I could take another manager change. I might go insane. I think we all badly wanted Ollie to be the one that we'd stick with, improve and then only change later on simply because we want to progress even higher, rather than be forced into a change.

With that said, it's not impossible that he'll turn things around over the Summer and fix us into a much more efficient team. I'm not expecting to win the league, of course. But I mean turn us into a competitive side who can provide some great moments.

I'd be happy finishing top 8 every season and just missing out on the play offs rather than the dreadful season we have had this year. I think in the last 5 years our win %age is something like 22%.
I'm afraid that in order to improve we will have to invest in a few expierenced players, as this league is only going to get harder as team get Wealthier owners and spend more. We will need to compete with these teams which will mean the wage bill will have to go up, won't it ?

A) that's a pretty damning indictment of Les who is meant to be the strategist behind all this
B) would you really want Ollie to have those two windows (I assume he means summer windows) and leave us in better shape?

Anyway, I'm about to feel much much better as going into a meeting where I have licence to act in full Malcolm Tucker mode given the serial failure of several of the other participants. Really looking forward to taking out my QPR related agnst on innocent civilians, especially Americans who have no idea what QPR is.

Damn it ! In that case I hope our intrepid scouting network is busy at work at the forthcoming FIFA U20's World Cup - we should pick up some 'rough diamonds' like Bristol C and Forest did with Assombalonga and Abraham.

It's got to happen.

I completely understand why Ollie is getting pelters and whilst I do not want to defend him or his tactics (?) I honestly think under JFH we would have fallen through the trap door this season. I am on record as saying that, for me Ollie and Birch were my dream team. Well that dream has ALMOST turned into a nightmare. With JFH at the helm, the nightmare would've become reality.

Bring on next season, whatever next season brings!

U Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!!!

I thought we could have been 3 down in the first 15 minutes as Perch was ripped several new ones every time they came down our right. I we did look a little better at the start of the second half but it didn't last long.

Yes, you are right Hoops but having weathered that early form we at least looked in it briefly (albeit very briefly!)

I can find no words to describe that "performance".

The highlights of the day were having chats with Dave Thomas & Rod. Plus getting off the train when it reached Ipswich!

I'm guessing you mean the posters Hoops Eternal and The Ball goes wide to Dave Thomas, rather than their 70s footballing namesakes?

We lost 50% of our league games, that really is unacceptable. I was listening to various newspaper columnists on the radio today discussing Blackburn and there are similarities in how they've spunked £200 million to drop two divisions since Venky's took over, we've topped that with £250 million and we were looking down the trapdoor that claimed Blackburn yesterday.

The common theme is owners who just haven't a clue and TF is close to emulating the Venky's if Ollie doesn't sort us out, next season will make or break us as I can't see another managerial change bringing anything more than more dross for the paying customers...

I can only find one positive after Holloway's reign so far. And that is Ryan Manning, he's an asset now. Under JFH he would have probably been released this summer.
Apart from that I feel Holloway has made it harder for himself than needed to be. After the great run we went on and he actually hit the spot with his tactics, it seems like it went to his head and after that he totally lost the plot. IF, and its a big if, he can learn from what has worked and more importantly what hasn't worked then there is hope. Albeit a very slim one.

Agree Manning, and probably Luke Freeman.

One out of two there Tooting.

Unless Dave Thomas of AKUTR's fame is your second poster! I've posted on here for a few years now but have not come across The Ball goes wide to Dave Thomas.

''Their reward was another firm volley delivered direct to the testicles. A final heavy defeat in a season of 23 league losses (relegated Blackburn lost 19), four more goals conceded taking the total to 66 (Blackburn and Wigan both went down conceding fewer), and an eighteenth defeat since Ian Holloway returned to the club 31 league and cup games ago. ''

<yikes> <yikes> <yikes>

I meant the other DT, Terry, he seems to have dropped off the radar lately
