So maybe Jerome hasn't suddenly turned into a poor striker, maybe just maybe its down to team tactics. Personally I think Jerome works harder for the team and defends better from the front than Oliveira, but my point was more about the blind faith some posters, not necessarily you, have in a player that isn't always justified and how when someone who isn't available to play suddenly, becomes the one player that,s going to turn things round for us.

Fair criticism canario.
I was at the game today and I don't think he even had a chance to shoot at goal, as the build up play was pretty dire.
I've no idea how Whoscored rated Wes at 6.7 and I admit Oliveira was almost useless and it would't surprise me to see CJ back any time soon.

Let's hope AP is going to remain fit for a while now, as he looked really up for it when he came on.
I'm still struggling to see what Vrancic 'brings to the party!!!'

Murphy squandered a great one-on-one chance. Preston goal from a set piece again and so we go on just the same old way. Surely Farke, Webber and D Smith must see that we do not posses a reliable striker and that if this is not addressed in January then we must accept that their ambition is mid-table Championship. This will probably lead to lower gates and mediocrity.

He's not a poor striker, but he's not the player he was. He use to be a Championship destroyer. He's a few years older now. He was a hard worker who was a target man with pace. He's lost a few yards of pace. He probably can't work as hard for as long. It's natural that he's lose bits of edge. He's a sub player/player you would use if you need to play long. But you would need to tell him to stay up top and hit the box every time. He seems likes he's been told to run out wide or drop deep to collect the ball all the time.

Never gonna work now.

I went to most games last season and if I remember rightly, we mostly had gates above 26K and even around 26,5K - today's gate was a fraction over 25K and the man sitting next to me was saying he's considering not renewing his ST. At this rate, it will be ILD and his fellow supporters in the stands. <ok>

<laugh> You don't like Wes, we get it! Can we just take that as read now please?
I'm sure there'll be a second rate German along soon to emulate him. <ok>

Dunno why I keep defending Wes to be honest. Guy's 35 so we know his best years are behind him.

You know what, maybe the problem lies elsewhere (ooo, controversial I know). I could name a few worse players in the squad, but I'm past caring.

We're mid-table on merit and that's that.

I love Wes, but I know he hasn' been playing well, but I don't expect him to when played out wide. I rate him through the middle, wide he is not just wasted but a weakness.

Bah!
I was p*ssed off he played on the wing in the last game! Was he out there again?! It was obvious that was never going to work! He’s got no pace and he’s not that type of player anymore.
