Wildshutt has never really got a consistent run of games to really see what he's like. He has the odd decent game but is then dropped. Against Ipswich he was good and he does liven the crowd up with his direct runs but there is the problem. He doesn't fit in to the Farke gameplay hence he's not picked. Much rather him in the side than Marley Watkins!!

The point being if we get an offer of £7m for Pritchard or Maddisson we would probably sell ,what the hell did Wildshutt do to be worth anywhere near that?
We would be lucky to get £2m back for him.

With Wildschutt, the overall initial purchase was another strange decision by the club when we were crying out for defenders. The price again was I agree a bit steep and we may have as you identify trouble recouping that, however my point is he's never been given a real chance to prove his worth as he may be indeed worth that and hence possibly even more resale value. The lads never been given a chance to prove it and is now under a manages who's game play is not for him. These are all ifs and buts however it does highlight the poor decision made by the club in transfer dealings over the last few years.

There was a time during our unbeaten run when Wildschut and Watkins were both playing and they were excellent at tracking back to help the FBs with non-stop work-rate. The difficulty was the loss of attacking prowess. With the return of Pritchard and the way Josh has developed defensively, especially with Lewis now, it's hard to see Wildschut getting a look-in. I really like his commitment and all round play though. As for the £7m, were were a PL team and, as with Naismith, that inflated any price to prise a player away from a club that didn't want to sell (just like we would do if any PL team tried to prise away one of our players).

When Wildshutt was brought in one of his best assets apparently was his ability to be able to play either wing midfield and striker positions, this makes it even more mystifying that he can't get in the side racking up just 25 appearances and 3 goals.
Even free transfer Watkins seems to have usurped him .
On the few occasions I have seen him he appears to leave opposition defenders in his wake but then run the ball out or into dead ends .
Bags of potential but another one that has gone backwards and if our financial position is as bad as we are being told then another costly mistake.
