Agreed. Several points in the match where our midfield got comfortably outmuscled by Choudary or Ndidi really hit that home - one of our problems is being so lightweight and short. I know it’s not popular but Stiepermann really does bring an extra bit of solidity to our squad when he’s on the pitch.
Great to see it again, but it was perfectly struck across the ball to make it swerve away it from the goal past the keeper then spin back again into the bottom corner. We also did wellprotecting the lead in the final 20 minutes.
Cracking result, Dave. I would love you and us to survive and West Sham, Bournemouth and the Villa go down. I can’t remember a better team than you being in your position at this stage of the season.
I missed the game ...in truth, I forgot all about it as I have more important things to focus on this week but .... That is some strike from Jamal Lewis - seriously not expected! Good points haul from Leicester this season
Why do we keep picking up points against the better sides, are we prepared better or are the sides closer to us in terms of points bigger/ stronger so we get outmuscled? Or is it simply the rub of the green
Missed the game too as was at a works do. What a strike from Lewis. The highlight reel looked pretty good too. OTBC
Strangely, there has always been a tendency towards that through the years, but this year it has been even more marked. Perhaps big scalps mean more to the players? Two weeks ago, Rupp was talking about the Liverpool game as one of the games they were looking forward to and that may be even bigger for the non british players. Buendia was defending like a demon last night, especially after the goal.
Staying up? Norwich's run-in7 March - Sheffield Utd (a)14 March - Southampton (h)21 March - Everton (h)4 April - Arsenal (a)11 April - Brighton (h)18 April - Watford (a)25 April - West Ham (h)2 May - Chelsea (a)9 May - Burnley (h)17 May - Man City (a) Little miracle anyone ?
I agree. One of the things that annoys me about him is that sometimes he's great with transition (In to Out), like last night. Other times he really lets himself down by stopping, waving his arms about and moaning rather than getting the ball back. Interesting to see Aarons giving him a hard time when he gave the ball away cheaply towards the end of the game. Like all our young players for me he needs to show more consistency if he's going to prove himself as a PL player.
It seems my threads had become cursed and @Bure budgie is off to a winning start and 100% record. Long may it continue
If they can produce consistently good games, over 90 minutes, those fixtures overall do provide a glimmer of hope .... but .......will we get that consistency?
We haven't won 2 in a row which is concerning and never pick up any points when we concede first . However to only be 4 points adrift at this stage of a campaign gives me hope
