Yet people thought that Chico's red earlier on in the season was the correct decision. Its about time we heard from referees so we can try to have some understanding behind their decision making rather than just blame the interpretations of the laws.
I know we all go on about consistency with refs, but what I can understand is how they intrepid the laws of the game. We have seen a couple of examples this season of a high foot. We have seen Chico and Nani both see red. Now I don't mind if we see all these type of incidents being punished. I have seen at least another 4-5 of the same style high foot and nothing. Didn't a Newcastle player cop a high foot right in the face, when I so that, I thought it was a straight red, but no just yellow. Which then frustrates the hell out of us all why we see one get red and one gets yellow. I do think it's about time officials are brought to book. If a player transgresses then the get punished be it with a yellow or red card. Then players and managers can be brought to book, even if they utter some criticism is made at officials. Now if an official has made an almighty cock up, then they should be disciplined by the referees association. It would happen in the normal work place.
Chico could clearly see the guy and raised his foot to head height. Nani was watching the ball and couldn't see the fella coming in behind him.
