How we got a point out of that I will never know. Perhaps the tide is turning after all. Take it and move on. Only Man City on Saturday
1-1 Full time. If you can't win, don't lose, and after Palace equalised it only looked like one team was getting a winner. Massive let-off with Zaha's penalty. Sargent to come back in at least (didn't think I'd be saying that in December!), and doesn't look like we picked up any injuries. A point from one of the next two games would be fantastic.
To be honest, that was horrible to watch. We had a near full strength team out and Palace had some injuries, but we were totally dominated in midfield and out wide. We still look weak on the ball. We don’t create much. It took some exceptional goalkeeping and defending to keep us in the game, and a huge stroke of luck with some sloppy turf. Don’t get me wrong a single point isn’t terrible, but this wasn’t Man City we were playing yet the gulf felt huge. We need three points in matches like this if we are to survive. It’s going to get tougher than this. And we spent 89 minutes barely even looking like scoring.
28% possession and a single shot on target does rather tell a story. Still feel like under Farke we'd have had 50% possession, not scored, and lost 3-0 though.
