I'm not convinced that such an analysis works this early in the season simply because those teams are partly where they are in the table because of their results against us. For example if Bristol had won instead of lost to us they would be second.

    Wow!

    Just saw Josh's goal.....Stunning strike!

That's both Murphy brothers with stunning league strikes.

Also just saw Amstrongs Debut goal for......Barnsley I think it was. What skill, control and strike! That lad is looking a class prospect. Maybe Jacob should have had words as Coventry and got him to come to us on loan!

I was out working behind the bar at Pork Stock last night - if you live in Norwich and get a chance to go next year, it's well worth it looking at the punters.

I've read through most of the comments on here and have to agree with what's been said in regards to the manager and how the players perform. Where has the AN gone who said we would attack, attack attack and OK, he is giving some of the younger players their chance, but WHY does he demote Bennett to the bench so he can play Martin out of position at CB???? <doh>
I agree with ILD in that the CR is becoming like a morgue and I'm sorry Klose and his teammates, but we need to see at least a 75-80 minute performance from the team for us to even start to get excited and cheer our team on, not just a few goals - the team has been pretty abysmal from the start of last season and haven't given us much to cheer about, so it's going to take several good performances to get CR back to the volume it can be..
I'll give AN a little leeway, as we've been plagued by injuries, but I'm beginning to think that there must be something wrong in the training regime, as I think only Brady's injury has been the result of a bad tackle, thd other's seem to be muscle strains etc.
Unless there is a much improved performance in our next 2 home games, then I'll probably pick and chose which games I go to watch and unless there is a change in manager, I won't be renewing my season ticket!!!

Edit - someone mentioned Huddersfield. Watch towards the end of the Football Focus from yesterday about 50 minutes in on iPlayer (you can catch it for the next 28 days or so) and see what David Wagner did. He took the squad to a remote part of Sweden for pre season for a team bonding camping expedition, with no toilets/food/electricity/mobiles etc

You maybe right maybe, but in part that was my point at this stage in the season this type on analysis is maybe no more useful than looking at the table and saying we're 4th so everything is ok.

Our only convincing win was against a very poor Blackburn side. We didn't deserve to beat 1p5wich and I've been very unimpressed by our performances in the games against the Owls and Robins!!!!

Would people be happier if we had played scintillating football and lost 3-2? This is an unforgiving league and if we had lost yesterday we would be in the bottom half of the table and people would be screaming for AN's head because our chance of promotion 'had gone'. I'm a huge fan of attractive passing football, but it isn't going to happen every game in this league. Given that we had to adjust after the Brady injury on top of the injuries we have already, it was going to be that much harder. Jerome has now scored 3 goals in 5 games, Jacob had a good game with two assists, and I thought both Pritchard and Josh did well when they came on and made a difference to be sure, so some hope there as the season unfolds. For me the most disappointing player yesterday was Wes, who had one of his 'quiet' games even though he was playing in his 'correct' position.

Looking at the table again, had we lost yesterday we'd now be in joint 15th place with Ipswich! <whistle>

I think there is still an air of over-expectation dating back to the Lambert/Holt era. The facts are that we aren't a big, rich club and we don't have a sugar daddy who can pump Mills in to get any player they want. having said that, we are a financially solvent/secure club, living within its means. One type of club is a ticking financial timebomb and one is going to be around long term. I know which club I would rather have.

Looking at the bigger picture, we are in much better position than we were 10 years ago and I'm happy with that. We are an inbetween Champ/Prem club, which is a big improvement on years ago and steadily progressing.

To quote Julian Richer of Richer Sounds - "What goes up slowly, comes down slowly".

Team wise - I get the comments about square pegs and round holes etc and to an extent, I agree. But we're not privy to what AN sees on the training ground and what is happening behind closed doors. All we can do is get behind the team and support them through thick and thin.

Agree we don't see what happens on the training ground, but we do see what happens on a Saturday. So we have ask what happens between training and match day? Our club had a reputation for playing passing football with the ball on the ground, now our passing is mainly backwards or sideways! I think that's why we are disappointed with the set up at the moment, it's what I want to see, not safety first back passing.
Rob Butler said on CC, that he didn't go to games to be entertained and was just happy with the 3 points. Well I'm happy with the 3 points as well, but do we want to be a West Brom or a Leeds of yesteryear, being as boring as hell!! I pay quite a bit for season tickets for my family and think
I want to entertained as well as getting results. That's not having a go at you, just my opinion.

I have read all the input from fans about our performances so far this season and conclude that we should be doing better and with the stated aim of returning to Prem this season both team, management and owners will not achieve this unless there is an improvement in expectations. There were signs of complacency yesterday which spoke volumes of how the players (and manager?) perceive their role in gaining promotion this season. I suspect that Naismith, Brady and Klose will seek new clubs in January and of the three, only Klose would be missed. Along with other fans, I don't believe that there wasn't money available for another striker as we seemed prepared, not so long ago, to spend at least £12m on McCormack without moving other players on. Now we are told that a new striker was not affordable without 'off-loading' other players. Tuesdays game with Wigan will be a test of faith as we supposed to have a stronger squad and based on this we should be winners. I am not holding my breath after Saturdays performance.

Same here - luckily I now pay only just over £300 for my season ticket, but I still expect to be entertained for that money!

My spend on season tickets is over £2000, that figure can be doubled if you take into account travel, parking, programs, food etc. I don't want to be bored for that outlay. I feel you should expect to be entertained B/H.

Crikey, that's some outlay. I can either get the bus or take the bike, so no travel/parking costs and only tend to eat when it is a Tuesday home game (Spoonie's 'Steak Night!!') or early kick off. Generally spend about £10 a game on beer.

    1. Could be worse, we could be Villa. On barely half our points and far ,far closer to relegation than promotion. And they had 22 shots to Forests 2. 2 must be their unlucky number 2-2.
