For me , KK, Chris Woods and Gunny are the best I have seen for us ( living abroad I have never actually seen Tim play for us).

IF we get promoted we have to do one of two things:
    (1) Find a way to help stieps have enough time and space in the middle of the park. We did actually manage it early next last season, but our defence got shattered, we lost confidence and stopped moving as well. Placheta, if he can develop his decision making and composure, with his pace could help stretch opposition defences. He already is (a different ask in the Prem though).
    (2) Find an upgrade to Stiepermann who offers the same understanding with Pukki and rifling through ball accuracy.

Can’t help but feel (2) is a much bigger task. Would be interesting to see how Dowell plays when he recovers.

I’d say Krul has actually improved while playing for us.

I think it might be partly that he’s getting back to his best when he was at Newcastle, but either way he’s beginning to look genuinely world class. I agree with Farke that he seems to be the best goalkeeper in the Championship. We’d be outside the playoff places without him.

Skipp is an incredible player , no way Spurs will let us buy him if we do manage to go up so a replacement for him will be a big ask

He was replaced by Vrancic at min 76 against Millwall, and on Friday DF said that he still had back and neck issues and was a doubt. Vrancic was on the bench yesterday. Even in 2018--19 when Stiepermann was virtually ever present, he was still subbed regularly around the 80 min mark.

What sort of risk? Of him not being available for the next game?

I'd like to think the decision not to sub him was a tactical one, just like the decision to bring on Mumba and Martin. Lambert couldn't have done better!

Definitely. Distribution could still improve though IMO.

Robbie still finds loads to moan about after another win and another clean sheet.

We did; interestingly with Leitner at 6. I think the key is actually the movement of others rather than the time Stiepermann has himself. He gets caught with the ball when nobody shows for him. If the movement around him is there, he can make the pass in an instant.

Ha! You must be stone cold DD, otherwise I'd be on Ignore <laugh>

PS Can't "Could do better" just be a statement of fact? Why does it have to be a moan? Maybe moaning, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

He was a doubt for the game because of the back problems and might well have been subbed if we had another game on Tuesday. Another possibility is that he may have felt the back problems late on in previous games and that wasn't the case yesterday. It could also have been tactical, as you say or because there were other substitutions DF felt were more needed and Mumba in particular turned the game around.

Whatever the reason, it was a good job he stayed on. I'm not as convinced as you are that he is indispensable and, for me, he loses the ball too often and that is his first goal for a long time. I'm still concerned about our goal scoring (compare Stieperman's goal scoring to that of Maddison or Hoolahan). I hope that Dowell proves to be an upgrade once he gets a run of games.

Krul plays yet another blinder keeping yet another clean sheet in yet another win.

Meh, his kicking could be better.

Get over your fixation with Leitner Farke doesn't rate him , nobody even wanted him on loan he probably has an attitude problem that was rumoured to be why he got frozen out at Dortmund.

Yeah, but we had him on loan and when that ended we bought him. Can't imagine that would have happened if he had an attitude problem.

I can only imagine what you would have said if I'd pointed out that having to rely game after game on Krul "playing yet another blinder" maybe doesn't speak volumes for the defence in front of him <whistle>
