Stoke have made something like 18 signings this summer, transforming their squad into what DW now thinks is one of the strongest in the division. The question is whether AN has yet got them playing as he wants and as a team. If he has, tomorrow will be a good test for us, as will Leicester on Wednesday. Ben Lee pointed out in his latest analysis that Leicester would be a real test of whether we had found a solution to escaping the sort of well-organised press that Rotherham used to such good effect against us in the first half of the last match. But we can expect much the same approach from Stoke, so I'd expect "a real test" of that tomorrow too. The biggest question in my mind is whether Idah can do what's needed in the way of runs behind the Stoke defence, and whether we have the accuracy of pass to feed him when he does.
We signed 17 players, but got the most important ones in early and used the whole of the pre-season to good effect. Currently 16th, Stoke have lost both away games so far without scoring and conceding 3 goals. They lost 2-0 last time out at home to Neil's old club Preston. Leicester will be a bigger test, IMO. WhoScored's 'probable lineups' (though Idah is more likely to start): Neil's view: "I think what the Championship does show you is that there are no givens, no guarantees in terms of form. Their last game was Rotherham, which they lost. At home they've been particularly strong. I've watched both matches, so we know they're a good side – but I think everybody in the Championship on the day is going to show up well at some point. We just need to go there and try to play as well as we can."
In his time at Norwich, Ricky Martin, Stoke's current Technical Director, was the driving force behind the recruitment and development of the crop of youngsters who played such a critical role for us under Daniel Farke (including Lewis, Aarons, Godfrey and Maddison). He was the first casualty of the shift to the Sporting Director model, departing the club a week after Stuart Webber's appointment in April 2017.
Thanks for doing the MDT & hopefully your health & personal life improves. Keep the winning run going

Stoke should have a penalty, that looked incredibly silly from Gibson to have a hold of the players shirt, even if his own was being held
