I could be a replacement for that lazy little ****, how he's kept his place for so long is beyond me! We're playing with 10 men when he's in the team! <grr>

Ryan Bennett was immense again today, that's just ridiculous. Redmond the same as Brady and Bennett, no fluffing way, i'm speechless!!:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss:emoticon-0127-lipss

It's going to take a miracle for Villa to survive, they really are awful and deserve to go down. I don't think any new players can save them now.

However I hope Sunderland don't somehow survive like they do every season, about time they go down.

When teams hold on by the skin of their teeth year after years their teams just get worse and worse. It's been happening to Sunderland and Villa for years. They lose their better players quickly and can never replace them well enough. I doubt either will have enough to stay up. It's the third spot that is is going to be a big fight.

I think Newcastle are looking good for 3rd place, unless they buy some good players this month. But I wouldn't say Sunderland and Newcastle are certain to get relegated yet because they do put in some good performances and could still get out.

But we're putting ourselves into a good position and if we can keep this run of winning games going then hopefully we wouldn't have to worry about it for too much longer.

Also according to match of the day we are unbeaten in 5. Important to know your facts in the high powered world of football punditry!

True, maybe Sunderland won't get relegated this season but every year they decline a bit further, it feels like a certainty they will drop in the next 3 or do years. There are countless examples of teams sinking lower and lower and none of them are now in the PL. (or have been down and come back like Newcastle). That was us in the championship under Grant then Roeder.

Whilst I heard it exactly like you did, I think he meant unbeaten in 5 at home. Swansea (win), arsenal (draw), Everton (draw) then the back to back wins make 5.

Sunderland and Villa are the new Wigan. They need to go down.

Good ratings. The only one I think is a little harsh is Hoolahan because while he did his usual overplaying and giving the ball away, he was much improved on last match and was a creative threat throughout with some lovely passing, just didn't get the assist today

I remember back in the day when the perennial relegation battlers were Coventry City. Other than Arsenal and Everton I believe they had the longest unbroken run in the top division until they eventually went down. Look at them now, it will be a very long time before they return to the top table if ever.
