From today’s presser – Thompson and Morris both out probably until the end of the season – knee and ankle respectively. Bendy should be ok to start, Klose and Leitner most likely Ipswich at the earliest. DF struggling with the ‘home grown’ rule and may bring in wide cover in the next week. NO recall for Marshall.
Why stop there, 9 from the next three with a Pukki hatrick against the Binners to bring him to full legend status in double quick time! Bah!
Norwich City have lost their last two league matches against Sheffield United, each by a 1-2 scoreline. They have never lost three consecutive league encounters with the Blades. Sheffield United are looking to win consecutive away league games against Norwich for the first time in their history. Norwich have won eight of their last 10 home games against Sheffield United in league competition (L2). Norwich have won 15 Championship matches so far this season (P28 W15 D8 L5), as many victories as they managed throughout the whole of last season's campaign (P46 W15 D15 L16). Sheffield United have not failed to score in back-to-back away games in the Championship since back in March 2018 (v Fulham & Ipswich Town). Billy Sharp has scored nine goals this season from inside the six-yard box for Sheffield United, at least two more than any other player in the Championship. Urgh. That’s where we are missing a bit of experience in the squad. Unlucky. Go again second half. Shame United go in buzzing and we go in deflated.
I see the ref has decided to blow his whistle now that Sheff U have equalised. Where did five minutes of extra time come from? Presumably no substitutions, neither team time-wasting. Refs in the Championship are completely ****.
One thing we need to improve on is the tendency to concede just before half-time. Need to up our game in the second half. Down to you DF!
