We are winless in our last six league matches against Sheffield United (D2 L4), drawing 2-2 at Bramall Lane earlier this season. Sheffield United have won two of their last three league visits to Norwich (D1) – they had lost their previous five games at Carrow Road before this. We have lost seven home Championship games this season, last suffering more defeats at Carrow Road in a season at this level in 2008-09, losing nine and going on to be relegated that year. Max Aarons has carried the ball a total distance of 8,734 metres in the Championship this season, the most of any player. He also has the most ball carries with a take-on of any defender this season (66). Who will be the April Fools today?
Just had a glance at previous seasons & 6th place is usually between 70 & 80 points 75 would probably guarantee it this year
Norwich v Sheffield utd Lose Blackburn v Norwich Lose Norwich v Rotherham Win Middlesbrough v Norwich Lose QPR v Norwich Win Norwich v Swansea Win West Brom v Norwich Draw Norwich v Blackpool Win I predict 13 points finishing on 70
Not inspired by that. Idah, Pukki and Sargent hasn't worked so far, so I don't see why it will suddenly transform into a winning unit. Pukki is light years ahead of both Idah and Sargent in terms of speed of thought, so just drop him and lump the ball forward or drop them and try to play on the ground, but don't imagine that Sargent is going to make a deft flick to Teemu which leads to the winning goal. Let's hope I have to eat my words at the end of the game.
I though they played better when Pukki was injured personally. Idah has a terrible goals tally 1 this season 1 assist but keeps getting picked , Ireland even gave him the number 9 shirt despite failing to score . Hopefully he comes good but he's majorly flopped IMHO.. Sargent hasn't been the same since Qatar . Since Dowell & Hernandez got injured we have been a bit toothless
We have to make a choice about what kind of game we want to play. If we want to play a passing game on the ground, we ditch Sargent and Idah because neither of them have the skills required for that kind of game. Alternatively, we dump Pukki, play Sargent and Idah, and become a lump-it-up-to-the-forwards kind of team. In that situation, they will get us goals. It won't be pretty, but they'll score. For me, we have spent the whole of this season in between these two options, trying to accommodate very different kinds of players into one system and it hasn't worked.
The others seem to express themselves when Pukki isn't on the pitch, he's clearly the main man & if he has an off day the team seems to play badly . That midfield looks a bit empty with Kenny alone as the quarterback. I hope I'm just being pessimistic
