I was in a great position to see this develop, and I was watching Pukki the whole way. It was AMAZING to see it unfold. The roar when he won that ball back gave me goosebumps.
It's not the first time he's done that. It was either against Blackburn or the game before. Which stand were you I'm FML?? I sit in the lower River End and head a great view of Pukki's volley when he told someone else to leave it!!
Yeah, that's why I was watching him from the start, I knew what he was up to. We were upper River End, right behind the goal. Was a lovely position to see all the players runs, movements and interchanges. It was like Pinball at times, so fast.
We saw Pukki back helping out in defence on many occasions last season. It's so good to see such a talented player who is not only interested in the pay cheque. I won't deny that I approached this season with some trepidation. I didn't wholly dismiss the possibility that we might flounder but the Liverpool performance was actually encouraging, realising that with the run of the ball Pukki could now be on six goals. My prediction was I think for fifteenth place for us and I am now starting to wonder if that was a tad pessimistic. The whole atmosphere within the club is amazing.
Oh yeah, definitely! He looked a frustrated figure. I bet he's regretting his decision already! He really should have scored that first half header though. I was sure that was heading in.
From Rick of MFW - Yet this was the best performance of the Farke era – one that felt like a culmination of two seasons of honing and refining and tweaking, which just happened to take in a Championship title along the way. From one to eleven, not forgetting the nice cameos from Super Mario, Alex Tettey and Sam Byram, no-one looked remotely out of place or out of their depth, and there was not a hint of the deference that most outside the Canary Nation seem to expect from us. So, a good one, a really good one, and to see the old place as vibrant, buoyant and celebratory as that was something to behold when most thought last season’s atmosphere couldn’t be bettered. But it was. Premier League goals and wins are special and as the noise reverberated around Carrow Road, it felt it, with many claiming they had witnessed one of City’s best-ever Premier League performances. http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...t-as-city-put-an-under-par-toon-to-the-sword/
I think Leeds away last season will compete for our best game. To silence Elland Road and win so comprehensively set us on our way to finishing as champions while also beginning Leeds' downfall. Yesterday was also very special and will boost confidence before the difficult games ahead.
In fairness that fee for Buendia is now significantly more after our promotion triggered extras. Was it increased to £3m or £3m extra....or something else entirely? Bah!
Reports in Spain say Getafe, who sold the Argentine to City last summer, have banked a £5m promotion bonus as part of the terms of the deal. Buendia cost City an estimated £1.5m but even with the extras, it will be seen as a bargain after the 22-year-old's brilliant season in English football https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/city-pay-buendia-bonus-1-6096032
We have two players in Jaime Redknaps' team of the week, Pukki and Aarons. Surprised at Aarons getting the call, but obviously impressed more than the other RBs.
