I really though we could stay up. Now I am in no doubt after the last few games, then sitting through that absolute S***e. We are in a tail spin.
There is not even a 3pm kick off where one of our relegation rivals is certain of a thumping that I can enjoy watching to cheer me up a bit. Sunderland v Bournemouth West Brom v Villa Not good games for us unless we want the Baggies to pull away
count yourselves lucky- I'm out in phlegm-land tonight - at 3-1 i thought i was going to enjoy hamming up my norfolk accent in the bars tonight
I'm assuming you meant to include a with that comment? Or did you mean we had a go at self-destructing? If so
I would say losing 1-2 or even 2-3 would be better than 0-1 but I'm not do sure about 4-5. At 1-2 or 2-3 it suggests you can still defend at least a little whilst you can still score. Doesn't leave us in a good place. Liverpool deserved it because they had the determination to keep coming back. I wouldn't so we didn't have determination or that we didn't want it but I felt we really lacked leadership. Confidence is low and we need somebody to step up, take responsibility and most importantly, turn it round. Unfortunately what we've seen over the past few years has indicated that Russell Martin is not that man. Tettey should be captain.
For what it's worth, the one that got away, Afobe and the one that went away, Hooper, have both scored within the first ten minutes of their respective games
Not really sure what to say about that, feel a bit deflated. At 3 - 1 we really should have won it, and then to lose at the very end is just another kick in the teeth.
I have been wondering if someone would raise this as it is something I have been chewing over since the final whistle. Back in my day, from the ages of 18 - 32 I was typically a wide right midfield player, used more often than not as an out and out winger as I had speed and a good right foot but every now and then I had to cover as a central defender in a back 4. I would be playing along side a guy who took it upon himself to marshall the defensive unit and even in games when we were up against better, and sometimes quicker players, we could shut them out quite effectively thanks to this guys football brain. All of this was at a fairly low level but football is relative, and I see no reason why one of our central defenders cannot do the same. If they are doing it, it is not obvious, and I found this particularly frustrating this afternoon (evening here)
That kiss didn't make it better?! I feel pretty sick to my stomach. ...(That's not related to the kiss)
Oh well, at least I can still proudly (!!??) say " I was there the last time Norwich beat Liverpool." Last ever day of the standing Kop at Anfield, 1994
