    It's a contact sport not a girl's game.

It's a contact sport with rules. Just because you get the ball doesn't mean it's not a foul.

It was ball before man in this case. You can't stop suddenly.

Any Norway players catching the eye Saints scouts? The Scandinavians have served our club well over the years

In real football it's about getting the ball not getting the ball in a certain way.Football is getting softer and softer...

Maybe it is, but players in the Euros will be sent off for less.

It's pathetic.A little bit of contact and they go down to the ground and start rolling around as if they've been shot <doh>.

Okay. We won, but didn't create many chances. Gave them a lot of possession in second half, but made them shoot from distance. A better team may have scored from one of the many corners they had. Green settled after first few minutes...did some good stuff. We want one of our few goalkeepers to get his confidence back. Whatever we think of Gerard's tackle, he would have been sent off in a tournament and was hardly a match saving tackle anyway, so not worth it. Hodgson will have learnt from it, no doubt.

It was hardly a confident attacking or passing display. However, I enjoyed seeing some composure and evident signs of organisation in the defence, and good positional awareness from the players. To those who think Roy is boring, I don't think Fabio's era was particularly exciting. This process of building takes months, we need to be realistic and realise these Euros are at an inconvenient time for us. From here we keep building, it's a decent foundation. A win away from home, a clean sheet, and Roy has seen some squad members in a match-environment. He will have picked up on flaws as well as positives.

From here it's time to get back on the training ground and keep improving. Onwards to Wembley.

I don't know, the guy went off injured, he was clearly hurt. I know what you mean, 10 years ago that would have been a great tackle but if he does that in the Euros he's risking an early bath.

As for the performance, not great. Even Wales beat Norway more comfortably than that. But a win's a win and and with more time on the training pitch and a few different players, I'm hoping for better next time. Don't know why Jagielka's only in the standby squad though, he was comfortably our best defender, and arguably our best centre-back pairing are him and Lescott.

This is why I always advocate letting the youngsters have a go in friendlies. They're the only ones who can actually be bothered.

good first 20 minutes, then a very poor display for the next 74! No imagination going forward, little width, and poor defending - just hoofing it out with scant regard for where the ball went. Thought Green commanded his area well, and Carol put in a good shift. As for the rest - pretty poor.

I'm disappointed. Friendly matches aren't about winning at any cost. Norway aren't world beaters and I'd have liked to see us try to control the game rather than going backs to the wall at 1-0. If we draw or even lose, its a friendly, put it down as experience and move on. Chamberlain showed some good touches and looked bright, but the midfield 2 were sitting so deep that Chamberlain was having to go deep for the ball and had a load of Norwegians to run into. If we can't take risks in a friendly, we'll be royally ****ed when we're under pressure.

Jesus Christ! Is Parker alright? I dread to think who they'd replace him with.

Well I hope the FA are happy that they got rid of Capello. It looks like we have reverted to what we were like before he took over: strikers isolated while the defence frantically lump the ball away as the midfield drops deeper and deeper meaning that we come under more pressure. But you look at the time and resources available to Hodgson and what can you say. England get what they deserve. Mind you some crazy results around Europe tonight.

We will get dicked by Benzema, Gameiro and the rest of the Frenchies, draw against Sweden (as always) and scrape a 1-0 win against Ukraine.
