Not many and none that i would know . I take little interest in Ireland . I don't know who Pat Finucane was or why his murder whould be treated any different than thousands of others who were slaughtered .
No I wouldn't wee man. But some police officers and UDR members have admitted it. Everyone knows that. The reason the police used loyalist paramilitaries back then was the same reason that people go to paramilitaries over the police to this day. They find out the truth and deliver punishment without a slimey lawyer getting them off the hook. Everyone knew who the main men in the RA were yet could do nothing at times due to the actions of the likes of Finucane and Rosemary Nelson. To this day the police know who the main men are but as quick as they are lifted they are released again. Not saying it is right, but in places like South Armagh and mid ulster where the prod community were a minority and under attack the police and UDR turned to loyalist paramilitaries.
If the state was legitimate in using terrorism against its own citizens then those citizens have legitimacy using terrorism against the state. You can't have your cake and eat it.

Very true Medro but in a country that apparently prides itself on upholding freedoms and looking after the best interests of its citizens (permission for Mick, Ciaran and co to collapse in heaps of giggles now granted) crooked cops should be rooted out and brought to book regardless of how long ago the offences were commited.
As I said I'm not making excuses for crooked cops, but it happens. I don't believe for a second that the top brass where turning a blind eye to rogue cops commiting murder.
It's hard not to believe it - at times I would imagine all sides involved treated it like a war situation - anything goes and all that.......
Not that I necessarily believe this, but using your logic that it was a few crooked cops who killed civilians, I could argue it was a few crooked IRA men who killed civilians, considering the IRA killed a lot more combatants as a ratio to civilians. please log in to view this image
