What, about the pubs? How come England is good enough for Webel's parents to move to, to live and to work and good enough for his mother to give birth in one of our tax-payer funded hospitals yet when it comes to a night out: him and his ilk have created their own "Irish" pubs so that they don't have to mix with any of us English bastards?
The way you talk about the irish i thought you'd be only too happy for them to have thier own pubs so they don't come near your local.
What way? What other reason is there? What's stopping you lot going into an "English" pub in England? Why the need to segregate yourselves?
I'm pretty sure the existence of them at this point in time is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Truth be told if I see an Irish pub when over the water or on the continent I stay as far away from the thing as I can. Back in the 19th century it probably had something to do with the rampant English racism instead whereby the Irish were hugely discriminated against, for the most part loathed and an Irishman would likely end up the victim of an assault if he stepped into an English pub by himself. Socialising together for the whole safety in numbers would be a natural progression
OK, in the past it made sense but today? In a pub you'll get a mix of any of English, Irish, German, Belgian, Spanish, American, Canadian, Australian, Czech, etc and that's just the beers. Our pubs have always served foreign beverages to cater to all tastes. I think O'Neill's is the most tacky, had a look at their "A taste of Ireland" in my nearest in Peterborough: http://www.oneills.co.uk/oneillspeterborough/pdf/oneillspeterborough-main_menu.pdf Irish mussels, Irish sausages and Irish beefburgers Mike called me "insular" when I said I tried to buy British given a choice.
Most Irish bars aren't even owned by Irish people and most Irish people dodge ''Irish'' bars when away from Ireland.
Webel goes in them, I know he used to frequent the O'Neills in an ex-proddy church in Highgate or thereabouts. Not that this is a witch hunt. There is a good Irish-owned pub in Covent Garden, forget its name but they brew their own beers and not a shamrock in site.
It is, owned by Mitchells & Butlers based in Birmingham but they have a racist shopping agenda. Aside from the chains, in Hitchin The Gloucester Arms became Molly Malone's: http://www.mollymaloneshitchin.co.uk/#!untitled/zoom/mainPage/image22i2 England flags, Help The Heroes sweet vending machine...you paddys are up to something.
He's an Englishman who pretends to be Irish and supports a Scottish team, his wife's Spanish and he lives in Ulster but works in Finland. Other than that - I know nothing.
No sir. I missed the first episode of series one and I got the huff and decided not to watch it. Now I am regretting it. Every **** loves it.
I only got into last week ...downloaded the 3 series and I'm up to date now. I was wrecked getting up for work each morning after watching 3 or 4 episodes a night
