North Ferriby United @northferribyutd ANNOUNCEMENT:- The club would like to announce and reassure all concerned that North Ferriby United will continue in the Conference North. I heard on Tuesday night, that following an enormous amount of flack, funding has been reinstated until a new buyer can be found.
I doubt they've gone that far, they'll probably just cobble something together to stay in the league, but there's no details been released yet.
I really don't think they're particularly well paid. Les Hare denied all that anyway. Can't see how their wages are suddenly a crippling cost.
They're free to find other clubs, if they want to stay they can but will have to do so on reduced terms.
Do they not have contracts in place? I suppose non-contract terms are the norm in non-league football. But if the Forsters wanted to reduce the costs they could have done it in collaboration with the Chairman and kept it all in house without the hoo-ha of that press release. Unless of course it's the publicity they crave....
The contracts haven't been terminated per se, but anybody wishing to leave will be able to do so and the contract will be waived to avoid compensation issues. A few are on non-contract terms and get their money from appearance fees and bonuses, but presumably they're the ones that won't be moving on as they're not costing the club anything during pre season.
Nathan Peat stands by his original comments, as do his team mates, and the only reason he has backed down is because he was threatened with legal action, and he is a lot brighter than you.
Shows how much you know then......these are non league part time players, many have decent main jobs requiring a good level of education....I know a few teachers, accountants, small business owners who play at Ferriby level........Nathan is well educated & probably brighter than you
North Ferriby United squad release . Ferriby reveal squad for 2015-16 FA Trophy holders North Ferriby United have revealed their squad for the forthcoming season in the Vanarama National League North. It will be the Club’s third season at this level. There has been much speculation since the end of the season as to the likely make-up and strength of Ferriby’s line-up for the coming season. However, the Club is certain that fans will be delighted by the fact that most of the FA Trophy winning squad will be wearing Ferriby’s green and white shirts next season. Owners Steve and Eman Forster commented, “Following the end-of-season media speculation, we are delighted to announce that most of last season’s successful squad has opted to remain with the club. It shows the players’ commitment not only to the club but also to the fans and those who work behind the scenes. It is this spirit which typifies North Ferriby United.” “As is usual during the close season, some players have left the club and we wish them will in whatever they choose to do.” Captain Liam King, striker Tom Denton, goalkeeper Adam Nicklin and defenders Danny Hone and Josh Wilde were on two year contracts and remain at the club. Goalkeeper Tom Nicholson, defenders Louis Bruce, Mark Gray, midfielders Danny Clarke, Russell Fry, Danny Emerton, Adam Bolder, Tim Taylor and Curtis Bateson plus striker Ryan Kendall have all re-signed for the coming season. Returning to the club after a seven year absence is striker/midfield player Nathan Hotte who has been playing at Bradford Park Avenue. Also returning to the club, after spending most of last season at Scarborough Athletic, is defender Dean Lisles. Both players will bring skill and experience to the squad.Leaving the club are defenders Gregg Anderson, Matt Wilson and Nathan Peat, striker Nathan Jarman, and midfielder Jonathan D’Laryea.Manager Billy Heath commented, “It is great that so many of last season’s squad have signed-on again and it says a great deal about their spirit and attitude“Despite the alleged doom and gloom of a few weeks ago, we are geared-up to go next season. It goes without saying that we have a good squad for the coming season. The new signings will add experience and both are versatile players. We have a squad that is more than capable of competing in the Vanarama National League.” I don't know enough about the Ferriby squad to know who's missing from the list above, Nathan Peat is the obvious one, are there many others?
Gregg Anderson, Matt Wilson, Nathan Jarman and Jonathon D'Laryea are missing as well so must be leaving.
Peat has retired, Jarman was told to find another club before the final and D'lareya commutes from Macclesfield and being a school teacher wants a club closer to home.
Wait a frigging second. I thought the Evil Allam Empire had destroyed this popular local village team and got them sent down to a local pub league?
