Sadly, many will make that argument that any failures will be down to Wenger leaving a rancid legacy. I've seen people blame him for Monaco getting relegated last season.
dont assume we are all as shortsighted as you think. I would EXPECT us to have a few rough SEASONS , before we started to really get stronger. In my opinion Wenger has taken us as far as he is capable. The league has changed and his tippy tappy philosophy has been countered very effectively even by the crap teams. He has no other strategy to offer, therefore he should step aside for someone who CAN adapt to changing styles.
what ? dont you think he has the same failure entitlement as Wenger ? 8 years ? You cant keep banging on about backing this failure without offering the same courtesy to the next.
Well i went SEVEN ( and counting ) with this fool , how hard can it be.. Seven years , one more and his FAILURE years will be greater than his success years. I want to aspire to a point where teams like Bradford city and Blackburn Rovers dont rub their hands when they draw us instead of a tough competitor. Dont you ?
We're at that point. Do you really think either team thought they were on an even level with Arsenal going into the game?
Of course they did, because they WANT to win it and will do whatever neccessary to win it. Whereas WE are Arsenal , so we pass it around and sideways , squander TWELVE corners , and then, oops , they have ONE shot on goal and show us up for the paper tigers that we are . NO TEAM fears Arsenal now. Why should they. We only play one way ,coupled with a laughable defence , counter that and you have your 3 points. They dont need 50 chances to score, thats just us these days.
I have already said this. My problem with wenger is not his lack of silver. Its his lack of tactical ability . I dont hate him , i feel sorry for him . he is like an old football world man lost in a new football world.
I find it hard to believe that any fan would be happy with sacking Wenger and his replacement going 7 more years without a trophy.
I can't imagine anyone having the patience for two seasons without a trophy under any post-Wenger manager.
It takes time to build something. Arsene is NOT building anything, he is managing a decline. Not of the CLUB , the club gets stronger , but certainly of the TEAM . His purchases have been dire too many times. Show examples of his how this team is stronger now than when he was successful . Not possible.
If Arsenal are so horribly one dimensional and inept, then how come only five teams have beat them in the league this season? Four of those six losses have come from teams that outspend them by a long way on a regular basis. As for Bradford and Blackburn, I doubt either team thought of Arsenal as anything other than a tough competitor. Maybe not on the level of City, United or Chelsea, but tougher than pretty much any other team in England.
And this is the crux of the argument. If it won't fix the issue of not winning a trophy, then why sack the current manger?
because why waste ANOTHER season , the writing is on the wall , you may as well read it as ignore it.
So if changing the manager would change nothing, then why do something that would not yield the desired result?
Its now after the Bayern Munich game and we've lost as expected. I am now in the WOB as Im fed up of not even expecting a result in ANY cup competition. We might or might not get 4th in the league, but thats not good enough compared to a few years ago.
