We've also seen what a difference it makes to our midfield when Aribo's out. The way things are going we're going to lose him for nothing in the summer
they're all going to leave for nothing come summer if we dont go up. why stay? RD clearly sees the players as disposable commodities. they can all get better contracts elsewhere. personally, i'd love to see everyone walk out, players, management, safety staff, admin, coaches... send RD a clear message - "you've pillaged too much"
Yesterday’s Talk Sport interview served as a reminder of just what an impossible job Bowyer or any Charlton manager has. Duchatelet has about as much interest in Charlton as I have in Highland Crofting. Promotion and certainly footballing success are all but impossible under this idiot. Yesterday also reminds us of what a nightmare we face next season if this Belgian cretin remains beyond the summer. It really will be a team of kids next year, with Taylor & Sarr sold this summer and the rest gone.
Shame about Sarr. It's actually a small vindication of the idea about buying youngsters cheap and bringing them on. sadly he got thrown in too raw and too Young and got the usual reception from the mob, but he is finally turning into a very usefull addition. At which point we get to RD's second axiom of bringing through youngsters - when they are saleable, sell the buggers off asap.
In reply to a Charlton fan on Twitter, Simon Jordan described Roland as being "Away with the fairies". His description of Murray was worse, lying weasel or something. One Simon Jordan, there's only one........no maybe not.
But he is giving the club itself away for “free” How unlucky were we as a club ever to attract this idiot as owner. Remember Murray’s famous words when RD arrived - ‘the days of Charlton selling players to survive are over’
With hindsight the club would have been far better off going into administration in 2014, rather than having 5 years plus of Duchatelet as owner. Yes, we would have been relegated & had a points deduction and people like Murray would have lost money, but the whole fan base would have united around rebuilding the club from then on and we may have got a group of small time locals in charge who had the best interests of the club at heart. We would have had to sell players to survive but that’s what we have done these five years anyway. We may not have had any success on the last 5 years but once again, what’s the difference ? One guarantee is that we wouldn’t have had 5 years of anger, bitterness, decline, disrespect, asset stripping, time wasters & attention seekers. Would administraton really have been any worse for Charlton than the Kafka-esqe nightmare it is locked into without escape now ?? No.
Just as Jim White's fake news raised hope and improved the mood last time, so this weeks interview will have confirmed what a lot of fans feared, namely that Roland doesn't want to sell. It will be interesting to see the change in mood among the travelling faithful on Saturday.
Even with an owner who wants to give Charlton away for “free” we still have an Aussie buyer who can’t afford it ?
It's all lies, this whole thing about the Club being for sale and the endless take-over carousel. In a few seconds on the radio Simon Jordan did more to show up what a world class w**ker Roland Duchatelet is than CARD have managed in three years. It's just a pity it took graffiti vandals to stir the whole thing up again rather than a clever, well conceived but legal protest stunt - something the complacent Coalition seems incapable of coming up with anymore.
@lardiman You have to admit that the graffiti protest worked a treat. It’s put Charlton back in the media spotlight, and the RD twat has made a fool of himself again.
It doesn't matter if he's made a fool of himself or not ….. nobody can make the Belgian sell if he doesn't want to Blackpool could force Oyston out as the Club owed the Russian £20m and it didn't have the money, so the Courts brought in Administrators and chucked Oyston out.
