I think they use it far too forensically. It gets involved it far too many things that should just be left to the on-field decisions. That was never a pen, not in 100 years. The player was halfway through his dive when there was minimal contact on his knee. Should have taken a single view then told to play on.
Agree about the pen, can’t enjoy any game where VAR is in operation just always waiting for it to intervene, the spontaneous joy of football is what it’s all about and it’s being ripped away from us
