Aye, but he's defending the space as modern keepers are told to do. Had Everton not stood about admiring the header that hit the post he might have had some cover.

Conventionally he should have stayed on his line. There would be less criticism then. The score would still be 1-0 mind

 

Everton have been dreadful. They're defending far too deep, Simms is not the man to be the out ball and the midfield are nowhere near close enough to him, so even if he does win anything, he has no support. Liverpool aren't even very good but they're going to win this at a canter.
