Really? Qualified with 2 or 3 games to go (hello Graham Taylor/Steve McClaren) and reached a WC Semi/Euro Final and you want him sacked based on a couple of limp performances in dead rubbers? Bizarre
Sorry that's no excuse, it's a 25 man squad who should all be capable of playing to a very decent standard, we we're playing 2 minnows ffs and were embarrassing.
GS is strangling a potential world & European championship side. We have the best team in the world managed by a politicaly motivated numpty
Not just that, he bottled the final against Italy. Not the right person to lead us into the next tournament. The players know it and they are not playing for him. It's glaringly obvious. He's toast.
If football management was so easy wouldn't everyone do it? "bottled the final" is an embarrassing thing to say.
Played attacking football all the way through then shat himself against an ageing Italian defence where we should have ran rings round them. Thats what was embarrassing. At Wembley as well
I can't be bothered to flick the channel on to watch these matches, not surprised the players can't get up for them
So what? Both teams have qualified haven't they? This reminds me of the bed wetting after Hartlepool beat us in pre season Any team in the world can lose or draw a game they should have won. Didn't this England manager also take 6 points from Italy in the group games?
Pros - We’ve already qualified and more talented youngsters are slowly getting introduced to team. Cons - Falling asleep watching us play at the moment. Reminds me of when we were in league one, with ****e teams putting everyone behind the ball for 90mins hoping to nick one on the break. Seems we’re undone without Bellingham/Kane both on the pitch
Loved the England fans after full-time singing "Channel 4 your talking ****e"... the presenters had to cut Southgate interview short worried about what they would sing next. Southgate got a lot of applause from the fans as he walked away clapping them. Good to see.
France are going to walk the Euros next year. we need to have a England team of players not playing any football but for England, they train together 5 days a week, all year round, that is the way forward a squad of about 50 players.
