I don't think any of those are beyond possibility. I think he'll stick with Patto....I wouldn't,but I think he will. Ballard and Enzo are out,so Mepham and Romaine are certs. He must know that Rigg needs a rest....it's obvious to everyone,so Browne should come in. He'll probably play Samed. From what I've seen I like Mayenda linking up with Wilson......I know he's not an out and out winger, but, they often look to play each other in....I'd give it a go. Paddy is bright and quick, tracks back, but his end product isn't always what it should be.
It's an interesting one on Patto. 2 high profile mistakes in about 20 mins of football. Added to an own goal against Plymouth at home and a mistake (or 2) v Plymouth away to name but a few. Do we stand by him as a show of faith? What message does that send to the other members of the squad? "Don't worry if you play badly, you won't be dropped"? Not saying I'm definitely in the "drop Patto" camp but there has to come a time when recent performances influence selection
Award for biggest understatement in the history of the club for that last sentence!! So bloody frustrating
I a, in the camp! His head went down so quickly on Saturday. And Hull players knew it. And Barry Bannon will have watched it and thought “just stick the ball in he’ll drop one”! I think he’s gone backwards personally. Was in the “next Pickford camp” at one point. Now he’s a mid table at best, championship keeper
I really don't fancy Browne in for Rigg. AB was brought in to play a deeper role, with Jobe playing further up. however, it's clear that Jobe fits better in that deeper pair. This leaves Browne a bit without a role. He looks totally unsuited to Rigg's position from what we've seen of him in R&W so far. With the injury to Le Fee I think we're a little bit stuck in attacking midfield positions if we want to give CR a rest. I'm sure it would be Browne who gets the nod, but I'm not sure it's the best choice.
I do think Browne would do more of a job than Rigg at the minute tbh, all he has to do is run around a bit and he’d be offering as much as Rigg. He’s been offering next to nothing for a while now think he needs a few games rest and hopefully get him back firing and fit for the run in. I’d throw Aleksic in over Browne though, I know I’ve banged this drum before but I think he brings loads of energy whenever he comes on and he’s great at running with the ball really good close control.
I can see both sides. Think some time out of the starting 11 may give him the rest of sorts, like time to focus and sharpen up so to speak but atm, teams will see what he did at the weekend and know will target him with crosses like that.
Not sure about that. His first major challenge was coming into a new league , in a new country, at a club and team that was on the back of a season of disruption and half a season of relegation form and to turn it around. He's had multiple challenges since then too.
Think none of us really saw us being in a title challenge under RLB is his first season, we have done better than most of us had thought. like its been said, all the games we have lost its been by one goal. a few silly mistakes have cost us points and we would be sitting pretty if we able to see games out or not rest on a 1 - 0. but this side is young and learning, as is RLB, he has even said each week hes learning something new about this league, there are 12 games left and we are still in with a chance of going up automatically. think in the POs we are in a with a chance,
Let’s be honest, there are none on here, nor at the stadium when we play, nor in their armchairs at home supporting, that would have turned down a top 6 finish before a ball was kicked! The mad disappointment is short sighted, and simply because we’ve done better than any of us imagined or dreamed! When most reflect, they’ll think we’ve done well to make the play offs, no matter the outcome
I think what could be narking people is that we've shown how good a team we've got BUT there's always an if or but. IF Neil didn't give that penalty away at Watford, we're good BUT we could be better if we didn't have those injuries. Thing is we have good squad but with having a young squad, they're going to make mistakes plus we can't seriously compete with the likes of Leeds, Burnley or Sheff Utd off the pitch which puts us at a disadvantage ON the pitch
In convo today with a lad at work, he said ‘you’d be top of the league with Trafford’. This is outside eyes. Made me think, maybe we’d be close.
I don't really understand TNTs thinking this week. Some interesting games tonight but nothing great but you have 3 very good games tomorrow night and the other 2 are pretty good as well.
This Stoke v Boro game is like a reminder of how lucky we are as supporters. Two hard working teams with very little real talent or spontaneity. A half empty stadium where the coaches are making most of the noise. A pitiful away turnout who look painted on, even more so now Stoke have equalised. I haven't looked at Cardiff v Hull but I doubt it's any better. We should really stop having a downer on ourselves imo.
