What amazes me is the fact they warn the players, then the ball is played in, there's just as much pushing and pulling as there was before yet he does **** all.
That's exactly right. I've no idea when it started or on who's instructions but they're all doing it. When will the 'expert pundits' start to mention it ... ... along with why modern players get cramp at exactly the time the manager is hoping for a team talk The earliest I've noticed, so far was the 67th minute but I'm sure someone will beat that.
I would like to think so. The centre back pairing look reasonable enough. A couple of big brutes in there. Not a great amount of skill but lets see.
Before they decided to add more injury time a few years ago the ball was in play on average 54 minutes in the PL. I remember reading about one game being less than 45 minutes, think it Burnley v West Ham. It was defo Burnley just can’t remember who against. It’s ****ing embarrassing that they let it happen so blatantly. Goal kicks take a minimum of a minute, throw ins where the swap the ball between players then walk up and down the line end up taking a minute. Not to mention the pretend cramps etc like you’ve said. Frustrates the life out of me even watching matches between teams I have no allegiance to.
Meanwhile in Scotland Rangers have just missed a 97th minute penalty to lose 1-0 at home to Queens Park in the cup. Huge result for them. QP had 1 shot all game to Rangers 29.
I think you may have posted on the wrong thread mate https://not606.com/threads/the-next-manager-head-coach-to-go.414371/page-42#post-18179208
Tbf like, Liverpool fielded a lot of senior players. Joe Gomez, Elliott, Endo, Chiesa, Jota, Diaz, Nunez, Tsmiskas etc should all be better than championship opposition really
It’s like Ange is an experiment to see how far they can take it. That said, that club above him is mental same mistakes time and time again. It’s like 3-4 years since a CL final and a team that looked about to compete and they’ve blown the whole thing up. Not like they don’t have decent players either. When Conte the cheat code fails, you’ve got to look at other aspects.
Gomez went off injured after 10 mins and Endo was playing as a CB with Tsimikas and a few kids. Elliot playing alongside McConnell and Nyoni I think and that McConnell is normally a full back. Front line was decent like but the midfield and defence were lifting. Chiesas performance was one of the worst solo performances I can remember for a long time he was dreadful. I’d be surprised if he actually beat his man once. I’ve no idea why Curtis Jones wasn’t brought in and Endo moved into midfield with him. Great result for Plymouth but the fact Liverpool went to 12/5 to win once they were behind is pretty telling about the team selection.
Our fans are quick to say “such and such went for X amount so we should get more than that for player A of Sunderland” but Rogers went to Villa for half of what Ipswich paid for Clarke initially. Crazy deal that he’s tremendous.
I couldn't sing 'sacked in the morning' at Ange, seems like a decent bloke ... ... I'd have to sing 'Consider your position in the morning, I think you deserve better to be honest'
I used to like him, opinion has changed recently though Think he’s ridiculously lucky to still be in a job.
